   (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Make sure that the track lock cover is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-000-801).
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-37-20-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Thrust Reverser Actuation System (TRAS) Lock Proximity Sensors
NOTE: These procedures are for the left hand (LH) TRAS track lock proximity sensors on one engine. The right hand (RH) side on the same engine is opposite.
   (1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Apply material as follow:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Apply anti-seize compound zinc dust petrolatum (Material No.PU5-0007) to the threads of the two proximity sensors (4), the mating surfaces of the two new anti-rotation tab washers (2) and two lock nuts (1).
   (3) Attach the two track lock proximity sensors (4) to the proximity sensor plate (3) with the two new EIPC 78-00-00-00-000 ANTI-ROTATION TAB WASHERS (2) and two EIPC 78-00-00-00-000 LOCK NUTS (1).
   (4) Hold the proximity sensors (4) with the
A708405 PROX SENSOR R/I TOOL.
     (a) TORQUE the lock nuts (1) to between 125.59 and 102.75 lbf.in (1.42 and 1.16 m.daN ) T.
   (5) Bend the anti-rotation tab washers (2) until they prevent the movement of the lock nut (1).
   (6) Install the proximity sensor plate (3) and the proximity sensors (4) on the track lock. Use the three screws (5).
   (7) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 46.73 and 38.24 lbf.in (0.53 and 0.43 m.daN )
T.
     (a) Make sure there is a minimum breakout torque of 1.95 lbf.in (0.02 m.daN) before you apply the specified torque.
   (8) Connection of electrical connector
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Connect the 4038KS-A (4039KS-A) connector on the TRAS monitoring harness to the track lock proximity sensor (4).
       1 Tighten connector with your fingers. Then, tighten the connector 1/8 to 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
     (b) Connect the 4046KS-A (4047KS-A) connector on the TRAS monitoring harness to the track lock proximity sensor (4).
       1 Tighten connector with your fingers. Then, tighten the connector 1/8 to 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.

   (3) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
