A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

Subtask 71-52-43-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Channel B Fire Detector Harness
(2) Put the harness in position on the engine.
(3) Connect the electrical connector 454VC-A to the core junction box.
(4) Remove the bolts (5) and put the harness into the the two clamps (10) on the pylon.
(5) Remove the screw (15) and washer (20), put the harness into the clamp (25). Attach the clamp (25) to the bracket at station 233 with the screw (15) and washer (20).
(7) Put the clamp (45) on the harness. Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239 with the screw (50), washer (20) and nut (55).
(8) Put the clamp (45) on the harness. Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239 with the screw (15), washer (20), lug (40) and spacer (35).
(9) Put the clamp (45) on the harness. Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239 with the screw (15) and washer (20).
(10) TORQUE the screws (15) and (30) and the nut (55) to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN )
.
(11) Attach the wire (60) to terminal A with the nut (65). TORQUE the nut (65) to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN )
.

(12) Attach the wire (85) to terminal C with the nut (90). TORQUE the nut (90) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
.
(13) Turn the harness until the index mark is at the top center on the clamp (70). Attach the harness to the fire detector element 4001WD2-A with the clamp (70) and the screws (75).
(14) TORQUE the screws (75) to between 10 and 8 lbf.in (0.11 and 0.09 m.daN )
.
(15) Safety the screws (75) withCP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
(a) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) wet with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to make clean the surfaces.
(b) Use a clean lint-free cloth to dry the surface before the solvent becomes a gas.
(17) Attach the ground wire (80) to the fire detector element 4001WD1-A with the screw (95) and the washer (20).

(18) TORQUE the screw (95) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
.
Subtask 71-52-43-760-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: When using fiberglass clamps on the engine core harnesses, do as follows: Wrap fiberglass adhesive tape (Material No.CP2208) around the harness(es) to make sure that the clamps do not move when they are installed. Wrap only the locations where the clamps are being installed.
NOTE: Before you tighten the clamps, adjust the wire harness to get the maximum clearance between the harness and the other structures on the engine. Make sure that the harness will not touch other structures.
(1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.(2) Put the harness in position on the engine.
(3) Connect the electrical connector 454VC-A to the core junction box.
(4) Remove the bolts (5) and put the harness into the the two clamps (10) on the pylon.
(5) Remove the screw (15) and washer (20), put the harness into the clamp (25). Attach the clamp (25) to the bracket at station 233 with the screw (15) and washer (20).
NOTE: Make sure that the Installation Reference Markers are aligned under the clamp. The Installation Reference Markers are fiberglass tape on the harness(es)
(6) Put the clamp (45) on the harness. Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 233 with the screw (30), lug (40) and spacer (35). (7) Put the clamp (45) on the harness. Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239 with the screw (50), washer (20) and nut (55).
(8) Put the clamp (45) on the harness. Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239 with the screw (15), washer (20), lug (40) and spacer (35).
(9) Put the clamp (45) on the harness. Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239 with the screw (15) and washer (20).
(10) TORQUE the screws (15) and (30) and the nut (55) to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN )
. (11) Attach the wire (60) to terminal A with the nut (65). TORQUE the nut (65) to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN )

(12) Attach the wire (85) to terminal C with the nut (90). TORQUE the nut (90) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
. (13) Turn the harness until the index mark is at the top center on the clamp (70). Attach the harness to the fire detector element 4001WD2-A with the clamp (70) and the screws (75).
(14) TORQUE the screws (75) to between 10 and 8 lbf.in (0.11 and 0.09 m.daN )

(16) Clean the mating surfaces of the ground wire terminal lug, the fire detector, and the fire detector mounting bracket. (a) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) wet with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to make clean the surfaces.
(b) Use a clean lint-free cloth to dry the surface before the solvent becomes a gas.
(17) Attach the ground wire (80) to the fire detector element 4001WD1-A with the screw (95) and the washer (20).

(18) TORQUE the screw (95) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
. B. Do an electrical bond resistance check.
(1) Put one lead of the ohmmeter on the ground wire (80) near the ground stud (95).
(2) Put the other lead of the ohmmeter on the top surface of the bracket.
(3) The resistance measured between the ohmmeter leads must not be more than 0.001 ohm.
(4) If the resistance is more than 0.001 ohm, remove the applicable hardware and clean the mating surfaces. Do again this procedure until the resistance is less than 0.0025 ohm.
Subtask 71-52-43-865-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put one lead of the ohmmeter on the ground wire (80) near the ground stud (95).
(2) Put the other lead of the ohmmeter on the top surface of the bracket.
(3) The resistance measured between the ohmmeter leads must not be more than 0.001 ohm.
(4) If the resistance is more than 0.001 ohm, remove the applicable hardware and clean the mating surfaces. Do again this procedure until the resistance is less than 0.0025 ohm.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
