B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

C. Get Access
   (1) Remove the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-20-000-801):

   (2) Remove the thrust reverser :

   (3) Remove the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-000-802).

D. Removal of the Panels
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
   (2) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
     (a) For the left pylon: 471CL 472BR
     (b) For the right pylon: 481BL 482CR.

E. Removal of the Components
   (1) Remove the shackles, the sleeves and the bolts of the pylon-to-wing aft attach fitting at RIB10 (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-000-805).

F. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Make sure that there is no Temporary Protection System (TPS) layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure

A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the sleeves (2) and the bolts (1) of the pylon-to-wing aft attachment at RIB10.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and related corrective action.

A. Installation of the Components
   (1) Install the bolts, the sleeves and the shackles of the pylon-to-wing aft attach fitting at RIB10 (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-400-805).

B. Installation of the Panels
   (1) Install the pylon-to-wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-804):
     (a) For the left pylon: 471CL 472BR
     (b) For the right pylon: 481BL 482CR.

C. Close Access
   (1) Install the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-400-802).
   (2) Install the thrust reverser:
