B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

C. Aircraft Stability
   (1) Make the aircraft stable (Ref. AMM TASK 05-57-00-200-001).

   (1) Lift the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001).
NOTE: It is not necessary to lift the wheels of the aircraft off the ground. It is only necessary to lift the aircraft sufficiently to prevent a force caused by the reaction of the shock absorber.

E. Removal of the Components
   (1) Remove the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-000-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-20-000-801):

   (2) Remove the thrust reversers:
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
451AL and 452AR (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-01-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-02-000-802)
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
461AL and 462AR (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-01-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-02-000-803).
   (3) Remove the power plant (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-000-802).

F. Removal of the Access Panels and Fairing
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
   (2) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
     (a) For the left pylon: 471CL 472BR
     (b) For the right pylon: 481BL 482CR.
   (3) Remove the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-802).
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-51-17-481-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Dynamometric Adaptor and Jack
   (1) Install a 98D54403009000 DYNAMOMETRIC ADAPTOR (top subassembly) at RIB1.
   (2) Put the jack in position below the attach-fitting at RIB1.
   (3) Install the 98D54403009000 DYNAMOMETRIC ADAPTOR (bottom subassembly) on the jack and apply a force of 0 kg (0.0000 lb) 150 kg (330.6933 lb) in the top direction.

B. Removal of the Pylon-to-Wing Aft Attach-Fitting at RIB10
   (1) Remove the cotter pin (36) and discard it.
   (2) Lock the fail-safe pin (31) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (3) Remove the nut (35) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (4) Remove the fail-safe pin (31).
   (5) Release the tab washer (33).
   (6) Release the nut (34) and lock the sleeve (32) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (7) Remove the nut (34) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (8) Remove the tab washer (33) and discard it.
   (9) Remove the cotter pins (37) and discard them.
   (10) Lock the fail-safe pins (43) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (11) Remove the nuts (38) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (12) Remove the fail-safe pins (43).
   (13) Release the tab washers (44).
   (14) Release the nuts (39) and lock the sleeves (42) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (15) Remove the nuts (39) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
   (16) Remove the tab washers (40) and discard them.
   (17) Remove the sleeves (42) and (32) with the 98D54003005001 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR.
NOTE: It is necessary to increase the force from the top continuously and equally until you can remove the sleeves.
   (18) Remove the shackles (41).
