B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 415
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 425.
   (4) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panels and doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413ET 471BL
     (b) For the right pylon: 423ET 482BR.
   (5) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802):
     (a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415BR 415CR
     (b) For the right pylon: 425AL 425BL 425BR 425CR.
   (6) Remove the closing sheet metal (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-805).
   (7) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the zone F drain-line outlet.
4. Procedure

   (1) Do the operational check of the pylon drainage system in zone C:
     (a) Put a plug in the zone F drain-line outlet in zone D.
     (b) Put water in the front and the rear of the zone F drainage to fill the zone F drain lines.
NOTE: To get the most accurate results for the leakage test, the water must stay a minimum of 10 minutes in the drain lines.
     (c) Make sure that there is no leakage all along the drain lines from the drain line connections to the drain line outlet. Use a FLASHLIGHT and a MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE, if necessary.
     (d) Remove the plug from the zone F drain-line outlet in zone D.
5. Close-up

   (1) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
   (2) Install the closing sheet metal (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-804).
   (3) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-802):
     (a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415BR 415CR
     (b) For the right pylon: 425AL 425BL 425BR 425CR.
   (4) Install the pylon-to-wing access panels and doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-804):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413ET 471BL
     (b) For the right pylon: 423ET 482BR.
   (5) Close the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
