(a) Remove the cotter pins (135).
(b) Lock the fail safe pins (131) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(c) Remove the nuts (134) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(d) Remove the fail safe pins (131).
(e) Release the tabwashers (132).
(f) Lock the sleeves (130) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and release the nuts (133).
(g) Remove the nuts (133) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(h) Remove the tabwashers (132).
(i) Remove the sleeves (130) with the 98D54003005001 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR.
(2) Remove the forward fail safe pins and the sleeves at RIB5. To do this:
(a) Remove the cotter pins (116).
(b) Lock the fail safe pins (111) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(c) Remove the nuts (115) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(d) Remove the fail safe pins (111).
(e) Release the tabwashers (113).
(f) Lock the sleeves (112) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and release the nuts (114).
(g) Remove the nuts (114) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(h) Remove the tabwashers (113).
(i) Remove the sleeves (112) with the 98D54003005001 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR.

PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. A. Safety Precautions
(1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(2) On the overhead panel, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(b) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
(c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to push the APU BLEED and ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switches.
(3) On the center pedestal, on FLAPS panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the flap and slat control lever is in the "0" (fully retracted) position.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to move the slat and flap control lever.
(4) Obey the safety procedure of the hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(5) On the overhead panel, on the HYD section of control panel 40VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) PUMP pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the applicable hydraulic system:
1 On HYD/FUEL panel 40VU
2 On the Ground Service Panel (GSP) of the applicable hydraulic system.
(6) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoirs of the applicable hydraulic system.
(7) Obey the fuel safety procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(8) Defuel the applicable aircraft wing tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT CIRCUIT BREAKERS 1QG (2QG) AND 3QG (4QG) ARE OPEN BEFORE YOU OPEN CIRCUIT BREAKER 1KC1 (1KC2). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE LP FUEL VALVE WILL OPEN AND THERE IS A RISK THAT FUEL WILL FLOW OUT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS AS FOLLOWS:
- 1JH AND 3JH1 BEFORE 2KS1
- 1JH AND 3JH2 BEFORE 2KS2.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PROBE HEATER AND WINDOW HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS ARE OPEN BEFORE YOU OPEN THE PHC AND WHC CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:

D. Depressurization of the Hydraulic Systems
Subtask 54-50-00-040-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE YOU DEPRESSURIZED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. IF YOU LOOSEN A HYDRAULIC TUBE FITTING WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, YOU CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Depressurize the applicable hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002). NOTE: 4020KM1 (ENG1) supplies the Green hydraulic system and 4020KM2 (ENG2) supplies the Yellow hydraulic system.
(2) Depressurize the reservoirs of the applicable hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001). E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-50-00-020-077-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

J. Removal of the Engine Fire-Extinguisher Bottles
(1) Remove the engine fire-extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).

Subtask 54-50-00-020-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Disconnection of the Fuel/Defuel System Components
(1) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) in position below the fuel connections.
(2) Disconnect the fuel recirculation check-valve from its connection adjacent to RIB7 of the pylon box (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-000-001).
(3) Disconnect the fuel line coupling from its connection adjacent to RIB5 of the pylon box. To do this:
(a) Remove the nuts (19) and the bolts (18) from the clamps (16).
(b) Disconnect the bonding straps (17) from the clamps (16).
(c) Remove the clamps (16) from the pipe (20).
(d) Remove the nuts (13), the bolts (29), the washers (28) and the clamps (12).
(e) Disengage the sleeves (27) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
(f) Move the sleeves (27) on the pipe (20).
(g) Remove the pipe (20) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31). To do this:
2 Loosen the nuts (14) and (23).
3 Remove the nuts (14) and (23) and the connectors (25).
4 Remove the pipe (20) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
5 Remove the retaining rings (22) from the pipe (20).
6 Remove the O-rings (21) and (24) from the pipe (20).
7 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(h) Remove the retaining rings (26) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
(i) Remove the O-rings (11) and (15) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
(j) Put the CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
Subtask 54-50-00-020-081-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) in position below the fuel connections.
(2) Disconnect the fuel recirculation check-valve from its connection adjacent to RIB7 of the pylon box (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-000-001).
(3) Disconnect the fuel line coupling from its connection adjacent to RIB5 of the pylon box. To do this:
(a) Remove the nuts (19) and the bolts (18) from the clamps (16).
(b) Disconnect the bonding straps (17) from the clamps (16).
(c) Remove the clamps (16) from the pipe (20).
(d) Remove the nuts (13), the bolts (29), the washers (28) and the clamps (12).
(e) Disengage the sleeves (27) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
(f) Move the sleeves (27) on the pipe (20).
(g) Remove the pipe (20) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31). To do this:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Cut and discard the lockwires from the connectors (25) and the nuts (14) and (23). 2 Loosen the nuts (14) and (23).
3 Remove the nuts (14) and (23) and the connectors (25).
4 Remove the pipe (20) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
5 Remove the retaining rings (22) from the pipe (20).
6 Remove the O-rings (21) and (24) from the pipe (20).
7 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(h) Remove the retaining rings (26) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
(i) Remove the O-rings (11) and (15) from the fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
(j) Put the CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected fuel pipe assemblies (30) and (31).
B. Disconnection of the Bleed Air Duct
(1) Disconnect electrical connectors 6HA1-A(6HA2-A) (62) and 6HA1-B(6HA2-B) (61) from the temperature sensors.
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the insulation muff from the bleed air duct.
(4) Loosen the clamps (63) and (65).
(5) Remove the sleeve assembly (64) with the clamps (63) and (65) from the bleed air duct.
(6) Remove the seal (66).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 54-50-00-020-101-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect electrical connectors 6HA1-A(6HA2-A) (62) and 6HA1-B(6HA2-B) (61) from the temperature sensors.
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the insulation muff from the bleed air duct.
(4) Loosen the clamps (63) and (65).
(5) Remove the sleeve assembly (64) with the clamps (63) and (65) from the bleed air duct.
(6) Remove the seal (66).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
C. Disconnection of the Hydraulic Lines
(1) Put the CONTAINER 2 L (0.53 USGAL) in position below the hydraulic connections.
(2) Disconnect the hydraulic connectors (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) from their connections.
(3) Put blanking plugs on the disconnected hydraulic ports.
(4) Disengage the case drain line (22) and the pressure reservoir line (23) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
(a) The screws (21) and the washers (20)
(b) The clamp blocks (24) and the deflector (19).
(5) Disengage the return line (17) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
(a) The screws (14) and the washers (15)
(b) The clamp (16) from the bracket (8).
(6) Disengage the pressure line (18) and the suction line (10) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
(a) The screws (12) and the washers (13)
(b) The screws (6) and the washers (7)
(c) The bracket (8), the clamp (11) and the bracket (9).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 54-50-00-020-084-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the CONTAINER 2 L (0.53 USGAL) in position below the hydraulic connections.
(2) Disconnect the hydraulic connectors (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) from their connections.
(3) Put blanking plugs on the disconnected hydraulic ports.
(4) Disengage the case drain line (22) and the pressure reservoir line (23) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
(a) The screws (21) and the washers (20)
(b) The clamp blocks (24) and the deflector (19).
(5) Disengage the return line (17) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
(a) The screws (14) and the washers (15)
(b) The clamp (16) from the bracket (8).
(6) Disengage the pressure line (18) and the suction line (10) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
(a) The screws (12) and the washers (13)
(b) The screws (6) and the washers (7)
(c) The bracket (8), the clamp (11) and the bracket (9).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
D. Disconnection of the Electrical Lines
(1) Disconnect the feeder cables from the right side of the forward fairing structure:
(b) Remove the covers (79).
(c) Remove the nuts (82) and the washers (81).
(d) Make marks on all the electrical feeders before you disconnect them.
(e) Disconnect the electrical feeders from terminal block 400VT1 (400VT2) (80).
1 Cable supports (90):
a Remove the bolts (87) and the washers (88).
b Remove the clamps (89).
c Remove the cable supports (90) with the clamp block plates (91) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
2 Cable supports (86):
a Remove the bolts (83) and the washers (84).
b Remove the clamps (85).
c Remove the cable supports (86) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
3 Cable supports (75):
a Remove the nuts (76), the bolts (73) and the washers (74).
b Remove the bolts (78) and the washers (77).
c Remove the cable supports (75) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
(g) Remove the bolts (70) and the washers (71).
(h) Remove the clamps (72).
(i) Remove the bolt (92) and the washer (93).
(j) Remove the clamp (94) and the spacer (95).
(k) Disconnect connector 424VC1A(424VC2A).
(l) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector(s).
(m) Disengage the cables from the pylon and put them on the wing.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections adjacent to RIB8 of the pylon box:
(a) For the left pylon:
(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections at the wing closing rib:
(b) Disengage the plate (113).
(c) Remove the nut (124) and the washer (125).
(d) Remove the bolt (128) and the washer (127).
(e) Remove the clamp (126).
(f) Remove the nut (123) and the washer (122).
(g) Remove the bolt (117) and the washer (118).
(h) Remove the clamp (119), the spacer (120) and the clamp (121).
(i) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections at the wing closing rib and put them on the pylon:

Subtask 54-50-00-020-087-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the feeder cables from the right side of the forward fairing structure:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION:
MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM.
IF YOU MAKE AN ERROR WHEN YOU CONNECT THE WIRES YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Cut and discard the lockwires from terminal block 400VT1 (400VT2) (80). (b) Remove the covers (79).
(c) Remove the nuts (82) and the washers (81).
(d) Make marks on all the electrical feeders before you disconnect them.
(e) Disconnect the electrical feeders from terminal block 400VT1 (400VT2) (80).
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(f) Remove the cable supports (90), (86) and (75) from the right side of the forward fairing structure: 1 Cable supports (90):
a Remove the bolts (87) and the washers (88).
b Remove the clamps (89).
c Remove the cable supports (90) with the clamp block plates (91) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
2 Cable supports (86):
a Remove the bolts (83) and the washers (84).
b Remove the clamps (85).
c Remove the cable supports (86) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
3 Cable supports (75):
a Remove the nuts (76), the bolts (73) and the washers (74).
b Remove the bolts (78) and the washers (77).
c Remove the cable supports (75) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
(g) Remove the bolts (70) and the washers (71).
(h) Remove the clamps (72).
(i) Remove the bolt (92) and the washer (93).
(j) Remove the clamp (94) and the spacer (95).
(k) Disconnect connector 424VC1A(424VC2A).
(l) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector(s).
(m) Disengage the cables from the pylon and put them on the wing.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections adjacent to RIB8 of the pylon box:
(a) For the left pylon:
- 471VCA, 473VCA and 475VCA.
- 470VCA, 472VCA and 474VCA.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections at the wing closing rib:
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(a) Remove the bolts (112) and the washers (111). (b) Disengage the plate (113).
(c) Remove the nut (124) and the washer (125).
(d) Remove the bolt (128) and the washer (127).
(e) Remove the clamp (126).
(f) Remove the nut (123) and the washer (122).
(g) Remove the bolt (117) and the washer (118).
(h) Remove the clamp (119), the spacer (120) and the clamp (121).
(i) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections at the wing closing rib and put them on the pylon:
1 For the left pylon:
- 411VCA, 413VCA, 415VCA, 419VCA, 421VCA and 423VCA
- 410VCA, 412VCA, 414VCA, 418VCA, 420VCA and 422VCA.
E. Disconnection of the Bonding Straps of the Spigot
(1) Remove the bolts (2).
(2) Disconnect the bonding straps (1) from the bonding brackets that are installed on the pylon box at RIB6.
Subtask 54-50-00-480-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the bolts (2).
(2) Disconnect the bonding straps (1) from the bonding brackets that are installed on the pylon box at RIB6.
F. Installation of the Pylon Trolley
(1) Put the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB) in position.
(2) Attach the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON to the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
(3) Put the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON below the pylon.
(4) Attach the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON to the forward and aft engine-to-pylon attach-fittings (RIB5).
Subtask 54-50-00-020-082-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB) in position.
(2) Attach the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON to the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
(3) Put the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON below the pylon.
(4) Attach the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON to the forward and aft engine-to-pylon attach-fittings (RIB5).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
G. Disconnection of the Pylon-to-Wing Attach-Fittings NOTE: You disassemble the pylon-to-wing attach-fittings at their bottom attachment.
NOTE: During the removal of the sleeves with the crane, you gradually apply a vertical force on the pylon. You apply this force until it is possible to remove the sleeves.
(1) Remove the aft fail-safe pins and the sleeves at RIB10. To do this: (a) Remove the cotter pins (135).
(b) Lock the fail safe pins (131) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(c) Remove the nuts (134) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(d) Remove the fail safe pins (131).
(e) Release the tabwashers (132).
(f) Lock the sleeves (130) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and release the nuts (133).
(g) Remove the nuts (133) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(h) Remove the tabwashers (132).
(i) Remove the sleeves (130) with the 98D54003005001 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR.
(2) Remove the forward fail safe pins and the sleeves at RIB5. To do this:
(a) Remove the cotter pins (116).
(b) Lock the fail safe pins (111) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(c) Remove the nuts (115) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(d) Remove the fail safe pins (111).
(e) Release the tabwashers (113).
(f) Lock the sleeves (112) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and release the nuts (114).
(g) Remove the nuts (114) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(h) Remove the tabwashers (113).
(i) Remove the sleeves (112) with the 98D54003005001 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR.
H. Removal of the Pylon
(2) Put the pylon with the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON on the ground.
(3) Install the 98D54403007000 PYLON HANDLING FOR PW AND CFM on the pylon.
(4) Install the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
(5) Remove the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON from the pylon.
(6) Put the pylon on the 98A54003117000 TROLLEY-PYLON STORAGE.
(7) Remove the 98D54403007000 PYLON HANDLING FOR PW AND CFM from the pylon.
(8) Remove the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE PYLON, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO FRICTION OR STRAIN AT THE SHACKLES AND THE SPIGOT FITTING. FRICTION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SHACKLES AND THE SPIGOT FITTING.
(1) Lower the pylon and move it away from the wing with the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB). (2) Put the pylon with the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON on the ground.
(3) Install the 98D54403007000 PYLON HANDLING FOR PW AND CFM on the pylon.
(4) Install the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
(5) Remove the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON from the pylon.
(6) Put the pylon on the 98A54003117000 TROLLEY-PYLON STORAGE.
(7) Remove the 98D54403007000 PYLON HANDLING FOR PW AND CFM from the pylon.
(8) Remove the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
Fuel System - Pylon-to-Wing Junction
