Cleaning of the APU Compartment with installed APU (APS 3200)

WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE APU UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Put the warning notices on panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
(2) Energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
Subtask 49-00-00-865-122-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the warning notices on panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
(2) Energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set the light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
(4) Remove the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-21-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-22-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set the light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
(4) Remove the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-21-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-22-000-001).
CAUTION:
DO NOT POINT THE SPRAY INTO THE APU INTAKE-DUCT.
WATER CAN GO INTO THE FELT METAL AND FREEZE. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INTAKE DUCT AND MAKE IT UNSERVICEABLE.
Subtask 49-00-00-160-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Cleaning of the APU Compartment
(1) Take a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) and use a solution of 50% water and 50% Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Gel Type - (Material No.08ABD1) .
(2) Apply the solution with a sponge on the APU compartment walls.
(3) Leave the solution on the surface for 20 minutes.
(4) Rinse the surface with warm clear water.
Subtask 49-00-00-160-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Take a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) and use a solution of 50% water and 50% Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Gel Type - (Material No.08ABD1) .
(2) Apply the solution with a sponge on the APU compartment walls.
(3) Leave the solution on the surface for 20 minutes.
(4) Rinse the surface with warm clear water.
B. Cleaning Alternative for the APU Compartment
(1) Spray the solution (50 percent of water and 50 percent of the Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Gel Type - (Material No.08ABD1) ) at a low pressure on the compartment wall.
(a) Make sure that you do not spray the solution on the APU.
(2) Let the solution stay on the surface for 20 minutes.
(3) Flush the surface with the CLEANING EQUIPMENT - STEAM (at a temperature of 70 deg.C (158.00 deg.F)) and at the lowest pressure.
Subtask 49-00-00-865-228-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Spray the solution (50 percent of water and 50 percent of the Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Gel Type - (Material No.08ABD1) ) at a low pressure on the compartment wall.
(a) Make sure that you do not spray the solution on the APU.
(2) Let the solution stay on the surface for 20 minutes.
(3) Flush the surface with the CLEANING EQUIPMENT - STEAM (at a temperature of 70 deg.C (158.00 deg.F)) and at the lowest pressure.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-21-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-22-400-001).
(3) Set the light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
(4) Close the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 49-00-00-860-114-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-21-400-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-22-400-001).
(3) Set the light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
(4) Close the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration.
(1) De-energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) De-energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
