If the interactive BITE test of the OANS does not operate correctly, do not do this procedure.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) Do the IR alignment procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-004)
   (4) Do the procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST NAV page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-010).

4. Procedure
Subtask 34-38-00-740-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. BITE Test of the OANS (System Test)
NOTE: During this procedure, if an error message is shown, record this message. Then do the related trouble shooting procedure.
NOTE: During the test, obey the instructions shown on the Navigation Displays (ND).
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the CAPT and F/O FCUs:
  • Set the range knob to ZOOM position.

  • Set the mode knob to NAV position.
  • The aircraft map comes into view on ND and the aircraft symbol comes into view in magenta color.
2.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the OANS indication
  • The OANS menu page comes into view.
  • Push the line key adjacent to the TEST indication
NOTE: The system test includes the video test.
  • The OANS TEST page comes into view.
  • The test is in progress for 360 seconds max.
  • The safety test is performed for 40 seconds.
  • The OPC page is shown for 180 seconds.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The warning message NAV:ARPT NAV FAULT comes into view.
3.On the CAPT FCU control panel:

  • Turn the CAPT FCU mode knob clockwise.
NOTE: If you do not do this, the OPC pages will stay into view for 180 seconds and then the video test pattern will come into view.
  • The video test pattern is displayed on both sides.
    F OANS Video Pattern ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
  • The video test pattern is inhibited on both sides for 10 seconds.
  • The video test pattern is displayed on both ND sides for 40 seconds.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The warning message NAV:ARPT NAV FAULT goes out of view.
  • If the video test is not OK, turn the CAPT FCU knob counter-clockwise (a failure message will be displayed at the end of the test).
NOTE: If the video test is OK, no action is required.

On the CAPT and F/O EFIS control panels:
  • Set the range knob in ZOOM position to 10NM.
  • Set the mode knob to ROSE-NAV position.

When the test sequence is displayed:
  • Make sure that the test message "TEST OK" is shown on the related MCDU.
  • The test procedure stops.
5. Close-up
Subtask 34-38-00-860-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the ADIRS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-005).
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
