1. Reason for the Job
To do an operational check of the OANS controls and display.
NOTE: The aircraft must be in an open area (not in hangar) to have the aircraft position shown on the airport map, on the Navigation Displays (ND).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) Do the IR alignment procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-004).

ACTION
RESULT
1.On the Flight Control Unit (FCU), on the CAPT and F/O EFIS control panels:
On the CAPT and F/O NDs:
  • Set the mode selector switch to the NAV position.

  • Set the scale selector switch to the ZOOM position.
NOTE: To use the ZOOM function, you can turn the scale selector switch some degrees counterclockwise.
  • On the top part of the NDs, the airport map comes into view (if the airport database is already loaded).
    On this map, the aircraft symbol shows the aircraft position on the airport surface.
  • On the NDs, the double-arrow comes into view.
2.On the CAPT and F/O Cursor Control Devices (CCD):

  • Push the CCD button.
  • If the OANS setting display-window is not shown:
  • On the NDs, a pop-up comes into view.
  • Select MENU with the double-arrow and the CDD trackball.

NOTE: When no FMS flight plan is available, you can select an airport from the element list in the ARPT SEL tab to show the related airport map (select the PLAN mode to show this airport if you are in the NAV mode).
  • The OANS setting display-window comes into view
    F OANS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
    Three tabs are available (MAP DATA, ARPT SEL and STATUS).
  • Open each MAP DATA, ARPT SEL and STATUS page with the track ball.
  • Each MAP DATA, ARPT SEL and STATUS page comes into view.
3.On the FCU, on the CAPT and F/O EFIS control panels:

  • Turn the scale selector switch clockwise to 10 NM.
  • The airport map and the OANS setting display-window go out of view.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the ADIRS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-005).
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (3) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
