4. Procedure
Subtask 33-21-11-910-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the Ballast Unit with Lampholder and the Tube
   (1) Installation of the ceiling and the entrance ballast unit and lampholder
     (a) Install the ceiling and the entrance ballast unit and lampholder (6) to the fuselage structure with the washers (7) and the screws (8).
     (b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (c) Connect the electrical connector (3).
   (2) Installation of the window ballast unit and lampholder
     (a) Install the window ballast unit and lampholder (6) to the fuselage structure with the washers (4) and the screws (5).
     (b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (c) Connect the electrical connector (3).
   (3) Installation of the tube
     (a) Install the fluorescent tube (2) to the lampholder (6).
Subtask 33-21-11-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Advanced Integrated Ballast-Unit (AIBU) with Lampholder
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) Install the spacers (9) to the AIBU with lampholder (7).
Make sure you hear a click when the spacers (9) locks in the position.
   (3) Put the AIBU with lampholder (7) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
   (4) If removed, put the reflector (6) in the correct position on the AIBU with lampholder (7).
   (5) Install the washers (3) and the screws (4).
CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS. THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
   (6) Install the fluorescent tube (5) in the lampholder (7).
   (7) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (8) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (9) Connect the electrical connector (1) as identified during the removal procedure.
   (10) If necessary, attach the electrical wire with TIE WRAP(S).

D. Preparation for the test
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Energize the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
   (3) Make sure that the cockpit door is closed and the engines are not running.
   (4) Push the MAIN OFF membrane switch on the forward attendant panel 120RH.
   (5) Make sure that the integral lights on all BRT, DIM1, DIM2, WDO and CLG membrane switches on the forward attendant panel 120RH are off.

E. Test of the Entrance-, Window- and Ceiling-Lights
   (1) Do the operational test.

   (2) Make sure that the cockpit door is closed and the engines are not running.
   (3) Push the LIGHT MAIN ON/OFF membrane switch on Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH.
   (4) Make sure that the indication on all of the BRT, DIM1, DIM2, WDO and CLG buttons on FAP 120RH are off.

G. Operational Test
   (1) Do this test of the entrance-Lights, window-lights and ceiling-lights:

  • All possible cabin lighting zones are shown.
  • Push the ENTRY/BRT button.

  • The related entrance light comes on.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the ENTRY/DIM1 button.
  • The ENTRY/DIM1 indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related entrance light intensity decreases.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the ENTRY/DIM2 button.
  • The ENTRY/DIM2 indication on the related button comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The related entrance light intensity decreases again.

On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the ENTRY/DIM2 button again.
  • The ENTRY/DIM2 indication on the related button goes off.

In the cabin:

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) For the ceiling ballast unit and lampholder:
NOTE: It is not necessary to do the operational test (Ref. AMM TASK 33-21-00-710-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 33-51-00-710-001), if ceiling or entrance panels are installed because of an illumination unit change.
   (3) For the window ballast unit and lampholder:
   (4) For the entrance ballast unit and lampholder:
   (5) Remove the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT).

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
