(e) Do a check of the NLG proximity sensors (14) and (17).
1 Make sure that NLG proximity sensors (14) and (17) are in the correct condition.
(f) Do a check of the electrical connectors (18) as follows:
1 Disconnect the electrical connectors (18) from the NLG proximity sensors (14) and (17).
2 Do a check of pins A and B and if necessary, repair them ASM 323103 or ASM 323104.
a If there is contamination, corrosion, bent or broken pins:
- Repair or replace the applicable NLG proximity sensor(s) (14) and/or (17) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-000-005) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-400-005).
(h) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) on the electrical connectors (18), ESPM 205450.
(i) Do a check of the sealant on the bolts and the nuts of:
- The targets (15) and (16)
- The NLG proximity sensors (14) and (17)
- The sensor mounting brackets (13) and (19).
a Make sure that the bolts and the nuts are correctly tightened (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-400-005).
b Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the bolts and the nuts (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-400-005).
(3) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) through the grease nipples (7) to lubricate the pin (8) and the target lever (1).
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
(a) Make sure that the grease comes out from the target lever (1). 1 If the grease does not come out from the two sides of the target lever (1), do the steps that follows:
a Remove the pin (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-45-000-801).
b Clean the pin (8).
c Make sure that the greasing paths are not clogged.
d Install the pin (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-45-400-801).
(4) Do a check of the fluid level and the charge pressure of the NLG shock absorber (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-32-610-001).
(5) Lift the aircraft on jacks (NLG only) (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).
(6) With the NLG shock absorber fully extended:
(a) Do a check of dimension H:
1 Make sure that dimension H is 449 mm (17.68 in.) +/- 2 mm (0.08 in.).
(b) Make sure that:
- The orange triangle (5) (mark for zero degree-alignment) on the NLG leg points to where the orange area (6) on the main fitting starts.
1 Move the elements of the flight/ground sensing mechanism smoothly.
2 Make sure that there are no mechanical plays that can cause an incorrect position of the targets (15) and (16). Be very careful with the target lever (1) and the upper bolt (12) of the rod link (3).
3 If you find defects and/or unwanted mechanical plays in the flight/ground sensing mechanism:
- Replace the parts, as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-45-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-45-400-801).
5 Move the upper torque link to manually operate the flight/ground sensing mechanism.
6 Make sure that the flight/ground sensing mechanism moves smoothly and there is no movement between:
- The balls of the rod link bearing (10) and the bolt (9)
- The balls of the rod link bearing (11) and the bolt (12).
- Replace the bolt (9).
- Replace the bolt (12).
- Replace the rod link (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-45-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-45-400-801).
