B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).

C. Get access to the avionics compartment.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the access door 824.
   (2) Open the access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

D. Prepare the media disk(s).
   (1) Get the media disk(s) from the storage box in the cockpit.
   (2) Make sure that the media disk(s) is(are) the correct one(s) for the aircraft configuration.
     (a) Make sure that the Part Number (P/N) written on the media disk(s) is the same as the P/N written in the airline configuration-management document.
       1 If the media disk(s) is (are) not available or not the correct one(s), contact your Airline Engineering Department to get the correct part number(s) applicable to the aircraft.

E. Installation of the YV68A110 PORTABLE DATA LOADER in the Avionics Compartment
   (1) Remove the blanking cap from the connector 184VC located at the bottom of the electronics rack 80VU.
   (2) Connect the cable to the YV68A110 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and the connector 184VC.

4. Procedure
Subtask 31-60-00-970-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Uploading of DMC1 Operational Software with the Portable Data Loader (SFIM Manufacturer or equivalent)
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the portable data loader:
  • Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.
On the portable data loader:
  • The < < MDDU READY > > indication comes into view.
2.From the storage box:
  • Get the media disk(s) related to the EIS.

3.On the overhead C/B panel 49VU:
  • Open circuit-breaker 10WT1.
On the CAPT PFD and ND DU:
  • The INVALID DATA message comes into view.
4.On the portable data loader:
  • Put the first media disk into the media disk drive, with the label in the forward direction.
On the portable data loader:
  • The READY indication comes into view.
  • Then the WAIT RESPONSE indication comes into view.
5.On the overhead C/B panel 49VU:
  • Wait for five seconds before you close circuit breaker 10WT1.
  • If a transfer fault occurs during the uploading and if more than one media disk is necessary, you must do again the uploading from media disk 1.
On the portable data loader:
  • The TRANSF IN PROG indication comes into view.
  • After approximately 10 minutes, the EJECT DISK indication comes into view.
6.On the portable data loader:
  • Remove the media disk from the media disk drive.
On the portable data loader:
  • The INSERT NEXT DISK message comes into view.
7.Do steps 4 thru 6 again for the other set of media disk(s) that you must upload.
NOTE: It is not necessary to do a reset of the DMC1 circuit breaker each time for the other set of media disk(s) that you must upload (do the reset only for the first media disk).

8.On the portable data loader:
  • Put the last media disk into the media disk drive with the label in the forward direction.
On the portable data loader:
  • The READY indication comes into view.
  • Then the WAIT RESPONSE indication comes into view.
  • Then The TRANSF IN PROG indication comes into view.
  • After approximately 10 minutes, the TRANSF COMPLETE indication comes into view.
9.On the portable data loader:
  • Remove the last media disk from the media disk drive.
On the portable data loader:
  • The < < MDDU READY > > indication comes into view.

On the CAPT PFD and ND DU:
  • After approximately 40 seconds, the DISPLAY SYSTEM VERSION INCONSISTENCY message comes into view.
10.On the portable data loader:
  • Set the ON/OFF switch to OFF.

B. Check of the Part Number (P/N) of the Operational Software Uploaded in DMC1
   (1) Do a check of the P/N of the DMC1 operational software (Ref. AMM D/O 31-60-00-74).
     (a) On the DMC1 LRU IDENTIFICATION 1/5 page, read the P/N of the DMC1 operational software.
     (b) Make sure that the P/N of the DMC1 operational software is the same as the P/N of the DMC1 operational software written on the media disk(s).

C. Check of the Part Number (P/N) of the DMC1 Operational Software Uploaded in DMC1 Through the AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT
   (1) On the MCDU MENU page, push the line select key adjacent to the CFDS indication: the MAINTENANCE MENU page 1/2 comes into view.
   (2) On the MCDU, push the next page function key.
   (3) On the MAINTENANCE MENU page 2/2, push the line select key adjacent to the AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT indication.
   (4) Enter 31 (the applicable ATA number) on the scratchpad.
   (5) On the AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT page, push the line select key adjacent to the START indication.
   (6) On the AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT page, push the line select key adjacent to the AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT indication.
   (7) If the printer is on, push the PRINT key.
   (8) If the printer is not on, on the AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT page, push the line select key adjacent to the ATA316334 DMC1 indication.
   (9) On the AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT/ATA316334 DMC1 page, make sure that the correct software (software DB/N1) component is uploaded.
   (10) Push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the MAINTENANCE MENU 1/2 page comes into view.

D. Removal of the YV68A110 PORTABLE DATA LOADER
   (1) Disconnect the cable from the YV68A110 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and the connector 184VC.
   (2) Put the blanking cap on the connector 184VC.
5. Close-up
Subtask 31-60-00-860-114-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU:
  • Push the MCDU MENU key to get the MCDU MENU page.
  • Set the BRT knob to OFF.
   (2) Put the media disk(s) back into the storage box in the cockpit.
   (3) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

C. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
