NOTE: The Procedure is valid for the Cockpit Voice and Data Recorder 1 (CVDR) and CVDR2.
Subtask 31-39-33-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(3) For CVDR1:
(a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at access door 312AR.
(b) Make sure that access door 312AR is open.
(c) Make sure that light switch 3LJ is set to the ON position.
(d) (4) For CVDR2:
(a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below access door 811.
(b) Make sure that access door 811 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

(a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at access door 312AR.
(b) Make sure that access door 312AR is open.
(c) Make sure that light switch 3LJ is set to the ON position.
(d) (4) For CVDR2:
(a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below access door 811.
(b) Make sure that access door 811 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Installation of the CVDR
(1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Carefully put the CVDRs (6) and/or (7) on the mounting tray.
(7) Install the washers (15) and the screws (14).
(8) Tighten the screws (14).
(9) Cut and discard the TIE WRAP(S) and release the strap (11) and the electrical connectors (8).
(10) Install the strap (11), spacer (12), washer (10), screw (9) and self-locking nut (13).
(11) Tighten the screw (9).
(12) Connect the electrical connectors:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(13) With the MILLIOHMMETER, do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802):
(a) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the CVDRs (6) and/or (7) and the screws (14) is not higher than 5 milliohms (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 31-39-33-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.

(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU CONNECT EACH PLUG TO THE CORRECT RECEPTACLE (USE THE IDENTIFICATION MARKS).
(c) Connect the electrical connectors (8) to the CVDRs (6) and/or (7).(13) With the MILLIOHMMETER, do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802):
(a) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the CVDRs (6) and/or (7) and the screws (14) is not higher than 5 milliohms (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
B. Installation of the Umbrella Panels of the CVDR1
(1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
(2) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(3) Put the umbrella panel (3) in position.
(4) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(5) Tighten the screws (4).
(6) Put the umbrella panel (1) in position.
(7) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(8) Tighten the screws (4).
(9) Put the umbrella panel (2) in position.
(10) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(11) Tighten the screws (4).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802):
(a) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the umbrella panels (1), (2) and (3) and the screws (4) is not higher than 5 milliohms (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).

(2) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)

(3) Put the umbrella panel (3) in position.
(4) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(5) Tighten the screws (4).
(6) Put the umbrella panel (1) in position.
(7) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(8) Tighten the screws (4).
(9) Put the umbrella panel (2) in position.
(10) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(11) Tighten the screws (4).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802):
(a) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the umbrella panels (1), (2) and (3) and the screws (4) is not higher than 5 milliohms (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set light switch 3LJ to the OFF position.
(3) Close access door 312AR.
(4) Close access door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

(2) Set light switch 3LJ to the OFF position.
(3) Close access door 312AR.
(4) Close access door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

Removal/Installation of the CVDR
