WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: REMOVE AND INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND ADJACENT COMPONENTS.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE INSULATION COVERS. DAMAGED, TORN OR RIPPED COVERS DO NOT GIVE CORRECT INSULATION AND MUST BE REPLACED.
Subtask 30-21-49-020-093-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI) Ducts
NOTE: As necessary, remove the sealant from the insulation covers and adjacent surfaces with a PU10-0007Scraper, Non-metallic, U10-0007. Do not cause damage to the insulation covers or adjacent surfaces when you remove the sealant.
   (1) Remove the Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI) sense tubes (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-12-000-801).
   (2) If necessary, remove the ECS starter duct, pressure regulating valve and ECS mid-Y duct to gain access (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-822).
   (3) Remove the aft NAI duct (1):
     (a) Remove the ECS link assembly from the aft NAI duct (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-822).
     (b) Cut and remove the safety cable from the two bolts (2). Discard the safety cable.
     (c) Cut and remove the safety cable from the bolt (2) and the bolt on the ECS duct. Discard the safety cable.
     (d) Remove the three bolts (2) and three washers (3) that attach the aft NAI duct (1) to the engine case.
     (e) Remove the V-retainer coupling (12) that attaches the upper anti-ice valve to the aft NAI duct (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-802).
     (f) Remove the three bolts (5), six washers (6), three bushings (7) and three nuts (8) that attach the aft NAI duct (1) to the three link assemblies (9), (10) and (11).
     (g) Remove the aft NAI duct (1) from the engine.
     (h) Remove the seal (4) from the aft NAI duct (1).
     (i) Remove the seal (13) from the upper anti-ice valve.
   (4) Remove the upper anti-ice valve from the short NAI duct (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-802):
     (a) Remove the V-retainer coupling (12) that attaches the upper anti-ice valve to the short NAI duct (14).
     (b) Remove the upper anti-ice valve from the short NAI duct (14).
     (c) Remove the seal (13) from the upper anti-ice valve.
   (5) Remove the short NAI duct (14):
     (a) Remove the bolt (5), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the short NAI duct (14) to the link assembly (11).
     (b) Remove the V-retainer coupling (12) that attaches the short NAI duct (14) to the lower anti-ice valve.
     (c) Remove the short NAI duct (14) from the engine.
     (d) Remove the seal (13) from the lower anti-ice valve.
   (6) Remove the lower anti-ice valve from the middle NAI duct (15) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-803):
     (a) Remove the V-retainer coupling (12) that attaches the lower anti-ice valve to the middle NAI duct (15).
     (b) Remove the lower anti-ice valve from the middle NAI duct (15).
     (c) Remove the seal (13) from the lower anti-ice valve.
   (7) Remove the middle NAI duct (15):
     (a) Remove the ignition cables from the middle NAI duct (15) spring clips.
     (b) Remove the four bolts (20), eight washers (19), four spacers (21) and four nuts (22) that attach the igniter cable bracket (18) and NAI bumper plate (23) to the middle NAI duct (15).
     (c) Remove the igniter cable bracket (18) from the middle NAI duct (15).
     (d) Cut the safety cable on the insulation cover (28).
     (e) Remove the two clamps (27) and insulation cover (28) from the middle NAI duct (15) and forward NAI duct (26).
     (f) Remove the V-retainer coupling (24) that connects the middle NAI duct (15) to the forward NAI duct (26).
     (g) For Configuration 1, do the following:
       1 Remove the two bolts (5), four washers (6), two bushings (7) and two nuts (8) that attach the middle NAI duct (15) to the two link assemblies (16).
     (h) For Configuration 2, do the following:
       1 Cut the safety cable on the two link assemblies (52) on the middle NAI duct (15).
       2 Remove the two bolts (5), four washers (6), two bushings (7) and two nuts (8) that attach the middle NAI duct (15) to the two link assemblies (52).
     (i) Remove the middle NAI duct (15) from the engine.
     (j) Remove the seal (25) from the middle NAI duct (15).
   (8) Remove the forward NAI duct (26):
     (a) Remove the insulation covers:
       1 Cut the safety cable on the insulation covers (32), (34), (38) or (53), (40) and (41).
       2 Loosen the two clamps and remove the insulation cover (31) from the forward NAI duct (26).
       3 Remove the clamp (33), clamp (46) and clamp (51) that attach the insulation cover (32) to the forward NAI duct (26).
       4 Remove the clamp (33) that attaches the insulation cover (34) to the forward NAI duct (26).
       5 Disconnect the wire harnesses from the spring clips on the B-flange bracket (50) adjacent to the link assembly (16) attached to the forward NAI duct (26).
       6 Remove the two bolts (49), washers (47) and nuts (48) that attach the B-flange bracket (50) to flange B. Remove the B-flange bracket (50).
NOTE: You must remove the B-flange bracket (50) to have sufficient clearance to remove the insulation cover (34).
       7 Remove the insulation covers (32) and (34) and the grommet on the cover (32) from the forward NAI duct (26).
       8 Temporarily install the B-flange bracket (50):
         a Install the B-flange bracket (50) to flange B with the two bolts (49), two washers (47) and two nuts (48). Make sure the bolts go through the holes in the adjacent brackets.
NOTE: Do not torque the nuts for the B-flange bracket (50) at this time.
         b Attach the wire harnesses to the spring clips on the B-flange bracket (50).
       9 Remove the two clamps (33) and clamp (46) that attach the insulation cover (38) or (53) to the forward NAI duct (26).
       10 Remove the insulation cover (38) or (53) and its grommets from the forward NAI duct (26).
       11 For PRE SB GRAA320NEO-A-30-21-0001-00001-930A-D, do the following:
         a Remove the two clamps (46), two clamps (45) and clamp (35) that attach the insulation cover (40) to the forward NAI duct (26).
       12 For POST SB GRAA320NEO-A-30-21-0001-00001-930A-D, do the following:
         a Remove the clamp (46), two clamps (45) and clamp (35) that attach the insulation cover (40) to the forward NAI duct (26).
       13 Remove the insulation cover (40) and its grommets from the forward NAI duct (26).
       14 Loosen the clamp and remove the insulation cover (41) from the forward NAI duct (26) and inlet cowl.
     (b) Disconnect the XDCR2 sense tube from the forward NAI duct (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-12-000-801).
     (c) Remove the two bolts (5), four washers (6), two bushings (7) and two nuts (8) that attach the forward NAI duct (26) to the link assemblies (10) and (42).
     (d) Remove the bolt (5), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the forward NAI duct (26) to the link assembly (39).
     (e) Remove the bolt (5), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the forward NAI duct (26) to the link assembly (36).
     (f) Remove the bolt (5), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the forward NAI duct (26) to the link assembly (16).
     (g) Remove the three bolts (29) and three washers (30) that attach the forward NAI duct (26) to the lower bifurcation firewall.
     (h) Remove the lower bifurcation firewall (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-11-000-801).
     (i) Remove the V-retainer coupling (44) that connects the forward NAI duct (26) to the inlet cowl anti-ice duct.
     (j) Remove the seal (43) from the forward NAI duct (26).
   (9) If necessary, remove the link assemblies:
     (a) Remove the five link assemblies (9), (10) and (11):
       1 Remove the five bolts (5), ten washers (6), five bushings (7) and five nuts (8) that attach the five link assemblies (9), (10) and (11) to the brackets on the engine case.
       2 Remove the five link assemblies (9), (10) and (11) from the engine.
     (b) Remove the two link assemblies (16) or (52):
       1 Remove the two bolts (17), four washers (6), two bushings (7) and two nuts (8) that attach the two link assemblies (16) or (52) to the brackets on the engine case.
       2 Remove the two link assemblies (16) or (52) from the engine.
     (c) Remove the link assembly (16):
       1 Remove the bolt (37), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the link assembly(16) to the bracket on the fan case.
       2 Remove the link assembly (16) from the engine.
     (d) Remove the link assembly (36):
       1 Remove the bolt (5), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the link assembly (36) to the bracket on the fan case.
       2 Remove the link assembly (36) from the engine.
     (e) Remove the link assembly (39):
       1 Remove the bolt (5), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the link assembly (39) to the bracket on the fan case.
       2 Remove the link assembly (39) from the engine.
     (f) Remove the link assembly (42):
       1 Remove the bolt (5), two washers (6), bushing (7) and nut (8) that attach the link assembly (42) to the bracket on the fan case.
       2 Remove the link assembly (42) from the engine.
   (10) If necessary, remove the NAI bumper plate (23) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-49-000-801):
     (a) Remove the four bolts (20), eight washers (19), four spacers (21) and four nuts (22) that attach the NAI bumper plate (23) to the two middle clamp-block brackets.
     (b) Remove the NAI bumper plate (23).
     (c) Install the four bolts (20), eight washers (19), four spacers (21) and four nuts (22) back on the two middle clamp-block brackets.
NOTE: Do not torque the nuts (22) at this time.
   (11) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
