Removal of the Lower Anti-Ice Valve

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). E. Get Access
(1) Open the right thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the right thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Removal of the Lower Anti-Ice Valve
(1) Find the lower anti-ice valve (1) at approximately 6 o'clock near the mid turbine frame case.
(2) Disconnect the aft sense tube from the lower anti-ice valve (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-12-000-801).
(3) Remove the coupling (2) and seal (3) between the bottom end of the lower anti-ice valve (1) and the mid anti-ice duct.
(4) Keep the seal (3) for installation.
(5) Hold the anti-ice valve (1) and remove the coupling (4) and seal (5) between the top end of the lower anti-ice valve (1) and the short anti-ice duct.
(6) Remove the lower anti-ice valve (1).
(7) Keep the seal (5) for installation.
(8) Put the COVER - PROTECTION on the duct openings, on the short anti-ice duct and on the mid anti-ice duct.
(9) Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the aft-sense tube connection.
(10) Put the COVER - PROTECTION on the openings of the lower anti-ice valve (1).
(1) Find the lower anti-ice valve (1) at approximately 6 o'clock near the mid turbine frame case.
(2) Disconnect the aft sense tube from the lower anti-ice valve (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-12-000-801).
(3) Remove the coupling (2) and seal (3) between the bottom end of the lower anti-ice valve (1) and the mid anti-ice duct.
(4) Keep the seal (3) for installation.
(5) Hold the anti-ice valve (1) and remove the coupling (4) and seal (5) between the top end of the lower anti-ice valve (1) and the short anti-ice duct.
(6) Remove the lower anti-ice valve (1).
(7) Keep the seal (5) for installation.
(8) Put the COVER - PROTECTION on the duct openings, on the short anti-ice duct and on the mid anti-ice duct.
(9) Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the aft-sense tube connection.
(10) Put the COVER - PROTECTION on the openings of the lower anti-ice valve (1).
