B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 72-21-11-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Lower BiFi
(1) Remove the brackets (2), (13), (23) and (36).
(a) Remove the two bolts (3) that attach the tube (LP02) to the sleeve (1) and the bracket (2).
(b) Remove the two bolts (3) that attach the tube (LB02) to the bracket (2).
(c) Remove the two bolts (3) and the bracket (13) that attach the tube (LR02) to the bracket (2).
(d) Remove the bolt (3) that attaches the bracket (2) to the bracket (23).
(e) Remove the bolt (3) from the bracket (23) and the sleeve (1).
(f) Remove the four bolts (26), bushings (25) and bracket (23) from the insulation blanket (24).
(g) Remove the bolt (3) from the bracket (36) and the sleeve (37).
(h) Remove the four bolts (26) and the bushings (25) from the insulation blanket (24).
(i) Remove the bolt (39) that attaches the sleeve (38) to the sleeve (37).
(j) Remove the two bolts (3) that attaches the sleeve (1) to the sleeve (40).
(k) Remove the sleeves (1), (37), (38) and (40) from the bracket (36).
(l) Disengage the tubes (LB02), (LP02) and (LR02) from the insulation blanket (24).
(m) Remove the bracket (2).
(n) Disengage the wiring harnesses (W03) and (W04) from the insulation blanket (24).
(o) Disengage the ignition cables from the insulation blanket (24).
(p) Remove the insulation blanket (24).
(2) Installation of the protection covers:
(1) Remove the brackets (2), (13), (23) and (36).
(a) Remove the two bolts (3) that attach the tube (LP02) to the sleeve (1) and the bracket (2).
(b) Remove the two bolts (3) that attach the tube (LB02) to the bracket (2).
(c) Remove the two bolts (3) and the bracket (13) that attach the tube (LR02) to the bracket (2).
(d) Remove the bolt (3) that attaches the bracket (2) to the bracket (23).
(e) Remove the bolt (3) from the bracket (23) and the sleeve (1).
(f) Remove the four bolts (26), bushings (25) and bracket (23) from the insulation blanket (24).
(g) Remove the bolt (3) from the bracket (36) and the sleeve (37).
(h) Remove the four bolts (26) and the bushings (25) from the insulation blanket (24).
(i) Remove the bolt (39) that attaches the sleeve (38) to the sleeve (37).
(j) Remove the two bolts (3) that attaches the sleeve (1) to the sleeve (40).
(k) Remove the sleeves (1), (37), (38) and (40) from the bracket (36).
(l) Disengage the tubes (LB02), (LP02) and (LR02) from the insulation blanket (24).
(m) Remove the bracket (2).
(n) Disengage the wiring harnesses (W03) and (W04) from the insulation blanket (24).
(o) Disengage the ignition cables from the insulation blanket (24).
(p) Remove the insulation blanket (24).
(2) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install the COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
