BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
(b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(2) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(3) On the access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
Subtask 36-11-49-865-186-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
(b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).

(2) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring

(3) On the access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
Subtask 36-11-49-010-220-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). F. Get Access
(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the Environmental Control System (ECS) Ducts
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Remove the IDG EDP harness from the spring clip on the ECS LP duct (27).
(5) Remove the ECS sense lines from the ECS ducts, the PRV and the HPV (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-823).
(6) Remove the intermediate pressure check-valve, the mid-Y duct (25), the V-band couplings (7) and the seals (8) from the ECS LP duct (27), the PRV and the HPV (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-000-802).
(7) Remove the PRV,the V-band couplings (7) and the seals (8) from the ECS starter duct (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-000-802).
(8) Remove the HPV, the V-band couplings (7) and the seals (8) from the ECS HP duct (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-51-000-802).
(9) Remove the component cooling tube from the ECS starter duct (9):
(a) Remove the bolt (1) and the washer (2) that attach the component cooling tube and the clamp to the ECS starter duct (9):
1 Do not remove the clamp from the component cooling tube.
(b) Remove the bolt (3) and the washer (4) that attach the component cooling tube and the clamp to the ECS starter duct (9):
1 Do not remove the clamp from the component cooling tube.
(c) Remove the bolt (5) and the washer (6) that attach the component cooling tube and the clamp to the ECS starter duct (9):
1 Do not remove the clamp from the component cooling tube.
(10) Remove the ECS ducts as follows:
(a) Remove the ECS starter duct (9) as follows:
1 Remove the upper V-band couplings (7) that attaches the ECS starter duct (9) to the Overpressure Valve (OPV).
2 Remove the lower V-band couplings (7) that attaches the ECS starter duct (9) to the Starter Air Valve (SAV).
3 Remove the bolt (10), washers (11), bushing (12) and nut (13) that attach the ECS starter duct (9) to the link assembly.
4 Remove the bolt (17), washers (15), bushing (16) and nut (14) that attach the ECS starter duct (9) to the link assembly.
5 Remove the bolt (18), washers (19), bushing (20) and nut (21) that attach the ECS starter duct (9) to the link assembly.
6 Remove the ECS starter duct (9) from the OPV and the SAV.
7 Remove and discard the seals (8).
8 Remove the nut (22), the washer (23) and the union (24) from the ECS starter duct (9).
(b) Remove the ECS LP duct (27) as follows:
1 Remove the bolts (52) and the washers (53) that attach the ECS LP duct (27) to the heatshield bracket.
2 Remove the V-band couplings (29) that attach the ECS LP duct (27) to the engine.
3 Remove the ECS LP duct (27) from the engine.
4 Remove and discard the seals (28).
(c) Remove the ECS HP duct (26) as follows:
1 Remove the anti-ice sense tubes from the ECS HP duct (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
2 Remove the bolt (38), washers (36), bushing (37) and nut (35) that attach the ECS HP duct (26) to the link assembly.
3 Remove the bolt (39), washers (40), bushing (41) and nut (42) that attach the ECS HP duct (26) to the link assembly.
4 Remove the V-band couplings (34) that attach the ECS HP duct (26) to the venturis (50).
5 Remove the ECS HP duct (26) from the engine.
6 Remove and discard the seals (33).
7 Remove the nuts (30), the washers (31) and the unions (32) from the ECS HP duct (26).
8 Remove the bolts (46), washers (44), bushings (45) and nuts (43) that attach the link assembly (47) to the ECS HP duct (26).
9 Remove the link assembly (47) from the ECS HP duct (26).
(d) Remove the venturis (50) as follows:
2 Remove the bolts (49) and the washers (48) that attach the venturis (50) to the engine.
3 Remove the venturis (50) from the engine.
4 Remove and discard the seals (51).
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(3) Remove the ECS harness from the ECS ducts, the Pressure Regulating Valve (PRV) and the HP Bleed Valve (HPV) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-61-000-801). (4) Remove the IDG EDP harness from the spring clip on the ECS LP duct (27).
(5) Remove the ECS sense lines from the ECS ducts, the PRV and the HPV (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-823).
(6) Remove the intermediate pressure check-valve, the mid-Y duct (25), the V-band couplings (7) and the seals (8) from the ECS LP duct (27), the PRV and the HPV (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-000-802).
(7) Remove the PRV,the V-band couplings (7) and the seals (8) from the ECS starter duct (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-000-802).
(8) Remove the HPV, the V-band couplings (7) and the seals (8) from the ECS HP duct (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-51-000-802).
(9) Remove the component cooling tube from the ECS starter duct (9):
(a) Remove the bolt (1) and the washer (2) that attach the component cooling tube and the clamp to the ECS starter duct (9):
1 Do not remove the clamp from the component cooling tube.
(b) Remove the bolt (3) and the washer (4) that attach the component cooling tube and the clamp to the ECS starter duct (9):
1 Do not remove the clamp from the component cooling tube.
(c) Remove the bolt (5) and the washer (6) that attach the component cooling tube and the clamp to the ECS starter duct (9):
1 Do not remove the clamp from the component cooling tube.
(10) Remove the ECS ducts as follows:
(a) Remove the ECS starter duct (9) as follows:
1 Remove the upper V-band couplings (7) that attaches the ECS starter duct (9) to the Overpressure Valve (OPV).
2 Remove the lower V-band couplings (7) that attaches the ECS starter duct (9) to the Starter Air Valve (SAV).
3 Remove the bolt (10), washers (11), bushing (12) and nut (13) that attach the ECS starter duct (9) to the link assembly.
4 Remove the bolt (17), washers (15), bushing (16) and nut (14) that attach the ECS starter duct (9) to the link assembly.
5 Remove the bolt (18), washers (19), bushing (20) and nut (21) that attach the ECS starter duct (9) to the link assembly.
6 Remove the ECS starter duct (9) from the OPV and the SAV.
7 Remove and discard the seals (8).
8 Remove the nut (22), the washer (23) and the union (24) from the ECS starter duct (9).
(b) Remove the ECS LP duct (27) as follows:
1 Remove the bolts (52) and the washers (53) that attach the ECS LP duct (27) to the heatshield bracket.
2 Remove the V-band couplings (29) that attach the ECS LP duct (27) to the engine.
3 Remove the ECS LP duct (27) from the engine.
4 Remove and discard the seals (28).
(c) Remove the ECS HP duct (26) as follows:
1 Remove the anti-ice sense tubes from the ECS HP duct (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
2 Remove the bolt (38), washers (36), bushing (37) and nut (35) that attach the ECS HP duct (26) to the link assembly.
3 Remove the bolt (39), washers (40), bushing (41) and nut (42) that attach the ECS HP duct (26) to the link assembly.
4 Remove the V-band couplings (34) that attach the ECS HP duct (26) to the venturis (50).
5 Remove the ECS HP duct (26) from the engine.
6 Remove and discard the seals (33).
7 Remove the nuts (30), the washers (31) and the unions (32) from the ECS HP duct (26).
8 Remove the bolts (46), washers (44), bushings (45) and nuts (43) that attach the link assembly (47) to the ECS HP duct (26).
9 Remove the link assembly (47) from the ECS HP duct (26).
(d) Remove the venturis (50) as follows:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Remove and discard the safety cable from the 15 bolts (49). 2 Remove the bolts (49) and the washers (48) that attach the venturis (50) to the engine.
3 Remove the venturis (50) from the engine.
4 Remove and discard the seals (51).
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(e) Make sure that you install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
