Removal of the Nacelle Anti-Ice Sense-Tubes

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). F. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 30-21-12-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Nacelle Anti-Ice Sense-Tubes
(a) Remove the nut (7), the two washers (5) and bolt (4) that attach the three clamps (6), the forward valve 1 sense tube (1), the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) and the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) to the bracket.
(b) Disconnect the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) from the solenoid manifold.
(c) Disconnect the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(d) Remove the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) from the engine.
(e) Remove the clamp (6) from the forward valve 1 sense tube (1).
(f) Disconnect the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) from the solenoid manifold.
(g) Disconnect the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(h) Remove the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) from the engine.
(i) Remove the clamp (6) from the forward valve 2 sense tube (2).
(j) Disconnect the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) from the pressure transducer.
(k) Disconnect the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(l) Remove the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) from the engine.
(m) Remove the clamp (6) from the XDCR1 sense tube (3).
(2) Remove the middle sense tubes (11), (12) and (13).
(a) Remove the bolt (14) and washer (15) that attach the two clamps (16), the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) and the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) to the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(b) Disconnect the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) from the union (10) on ECS duct.
(c) Disconnect the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(d) Remove the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) from the engine.
(e) Remove the clamp (16) from the middle valve 1 sense tube (11).
(f) Disconnect the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) from the union (10) on ECS duct.
(g) Disconnect the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(h) Remove the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) from the engine.
(i) Remove the clamp (16) from the middle valve 2 sense tube (12).
(j) Remove the nut (18), the two washers (19) and bolt (20) that attach the clamp (16) and the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) to the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(k) Disconnect the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(l) Disconnect the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(m) Remove the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) from the engine.
(n) Remove the clamp (16) from the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13).
(3) Remove the aft sense tubes (21) and (22).
(a) Remove the nut (24), the two washers (23) and bolt (26) that attach the two clamps (25), the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) and the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) to the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(b) Disconnect the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(c) Disconnect the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) from the upper anti-ice valve.
(d) Remove the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) from the engine.
(e) Remove the clamp (25) from the aft valve 1 sense tube (21).
(f) Disconnect the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(g) Disconnect the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) from the lower anti-ice valve.
(h) Remove the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) from the engine.
(i) Remove the clamp (25) from the aft valve 2 sense tube (22).
(4) Remove the XDCR2 sense tube (30).
(a) Remove the insulation covers from the nacelle anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
(b) Remove the bolt (29) and washer (28) that attach the clamp (27) and the XDCR2 sense tube (30) to the engine case bracket.
(c) Disconnect the XDCR2 sense tube (30) from the pressure transducer.
(d) Disconnect the XDCR2 sense tube (30) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(e) Remove the XDCR2 sense tube (30) from the engine.
(f) Remove the clamp (27) from the XDCR2 sense tube (30).
(5) If necessary, remove the unions (10).
(a) Remove the three nuts (8), the three washers (9) and the three unions (10) from the ECS duct.
(6) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
YOU MUST USE A WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.
(1) Remove the forward sense tubes (1), (2) and (3). (a) Remove the nut (7), the two washers (5) and bolt (4) that attach the three clamps (6), the forward valve 1 sense tube (1), the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) and the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) to the bracket.
(b) Disconnect the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) from the solenoid manifold.
(c) Disconnect the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(d) Remove the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) from the engine.
(e) Remove the clamp (6) from the forward valve 1 sense tube (1).
(f) Disconnect the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) from the solenoid manifold.
(g) Disconnect the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(h) Remove the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) from the engine.
(i) Remove the clamp (6) from the forward valve 2 sense tube (2).
(j) Disconnect the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) from the pressure transducer.
(k) Disconnect the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(l) Remove the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) from the engine.
(m) Remove the clamp (6) from the XDCR1 sense tube (3).
(2) Remove the middle sense tubes (11), (12) and (13).
(a) Remove the bolt (14) and washer (15) that attach the two clamps (16), the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) and the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) to the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(b) Disconnect the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) from the union (10) on ECS duct.
(c) Disconnect the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(d) Remove the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) from the engine.
(e) Remove the clamp (16) from the middle valve 1 sense tube (11).
(f) Disconnect the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) from the union (10) on ECS duct.
(g) Disconnect the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(h) Remove the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) from the engine.
(i) Remove the clamp (16) from the middle valve 2 sense tube (12).
(j) Remove the nut (18), the two washers (19) and bolt (20) that attach the clamp (16) and the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) to the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(k) Disconnect the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) from the union (10) on the ECS duct.
(l) Disconnect the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(m) Remove the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) from the engine.
(n) Remove the clamp (16) from the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13).
(3) Remove the aft sense tubes (21) and (22).
(a) Remove the nut (24), the two washers (23) and bolt (26) that attach the two clamps (25), the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) and the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) to the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(b) Disconnect the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(c) Disconnect the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) from the upper anti-ice valve.
(d) Remove the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) from the engine.
(e) Remove the clamp (25) from the aft valve 1 sense tube (21).
(f) Disconnect the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(g) Disconnect the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) from the lower anti-ice valve.
(h) Remove the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) from the engine.
(i) Remove the clamp (25) from the aft valve 2 sense tube (22).
(4) Remove the XDCR2 sense tube (30).
(a) Remove the insulation covers from the nacelle anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
(b) Remove the bolt (29) and washer (28) that attach the clamp (27) and the XDCR2 sense tube (30) to the engine case bracket.
(c) Disconnect the XDCR2 sense tube (30) from the pressure transducer.
(d) Disconnect the XDCR2 sense tube (30) from the nacelle anti-ice duct.
(e) Remove the XDCR2 sense tube (30) from the engine.
(f) Remove the clamp (27) from the XDCR2 sense tube (30).
(5) If necessary, remove the unions (10).
(a) Remove the three nuts (8), the three washers (9) and the three unions (10) from the ECS duct.
(6) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
