C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Remove the drain mast (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-01-000-802).
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-71-49-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Oil Tank and Lower Scupper Drain Tubes
(1) Remove the two bolts (3) and two washers (4) that attach the two clamps (5) and the oil tank drain tube (1) to the oil tank.
(2) Remove the five bolts (7) and five washers (8) that attach the five clamps (9) and the lower scupper drain tube (2) to the brackets on the fan case.
(3) Remove the bolt (10), two washers (11) and nut (12) that attach the clamp (13) and lower scupper drain tube (2) to the clamp (14) and oil tube.
(4) Disconnect the lower scupper drain tube (2) from the fitting (6) on the oil tank drain tube (1).
(5) Remove the lower scupper drain tube (2) from the engine.
(6) Remove the five clamps (9) and the clamp (13) from the lower scupper drain tube (2).
(7) Remove the fitting (6) from the oil tank drain tube (1).
(8) Disconnect the oil tank drain tube (1) from the fitting on the oil tank.
(9) Remove the oil tank drain tube (1) from the engine.
(10) Remove the two clamps (5) from the oil tank drain tube (1).
(11) If necessary, remove the clamp (14) from the oil tube.
Subtask 71-71-49-020-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the two bolts (3) and two washers (4) that attach the two clamps (5) and the oil tank drain tube (1) to the oil tank.
(2) Remove the five bolts (7) and five washers (8) that attach the five clamps (9) and the lower scupper drain tube (2) to the brackets on the fan case.
(3) Remove the bolt (10), two washers (11) and nut (12) that attach the clamp (13) and lower scupper drain tube (2) to the clamp (14) and oil tube.
(4) Disconnect the lower scupper drain tube (2) from the fitting (6) on the oil tank drain tube (1).
(5) Remove the lower scupper drain tube (2) from the engine.
(6) Remove the five clamps (9) and the clamp (13) from the lower scupper drain tube (2).
(7) Remove the fitting (6) from the oil tank drain tube (1).
(8) Disconnect the oil tank drain tube (1) from the fitting on the oil tank.
(9) Remove the oil tank drain tube (1) from the engine.
(10) Remove the two clamps (5) from the oil tank drain tube (1).
(11) If necessary, remove the clamp (14) from the oil tube.
B. Removal of the Lower Bifurcation Drain Tubes
(1) Remove the four bolts (17), eight washers (16) and four nuts (15) that attach the two middle clamp-block brackets (18) and (21) to the Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI) bumper plate.
(2) Remove the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two middle clamp block brackets (18) and (21) together.
(3) Remove the two middle clamp block brackets (18) and (21) from the middle line block (20).
(4) Remove the bolt (23) and washer (24) that attach the forward fireloop rail to the DR121 pylon Left Hand (LH) drain tube (22).
(5) Remove the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two clamps (25) and (26), DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) and DR131 pylon Right Hand (RH) drain tube (27) together.
(6) Remove the bolt (29), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two clamps (30) and (32), DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) and Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) drain tube (31) together.
(7) Remove the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two clamps (30), DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) and DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) to the gearbox drains support bracket (33).
(8) Remove the bolt (36) and washer (16) that attach the two clamps (32) and (30), DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) and DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) to the gearbox drains support bracket (33).
(9) Remove the bolt (36) and washer (16) that attach the two clamps (30) and (32), FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) and DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) to the gearbox drains support plate (41).
(10) Remove the three bolts (42) and three washers (43) that attach the gearbox drains support bracket (33), upper line block (44) and gearbox drains support plate (41) to the gearbox.
(11) Disconnect the DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) from the DR51 drain tube.
(12) Disconnect the FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) from FB02 the drain tube.
(13) Disconnect the DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) from the DR01 drain tube.
(14) Disconnect the DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) from the DR65 drain tube.
(15) Disconnect the DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) from the DR22 drain tube.
(16) Disconnect the DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) from DR21 drain tube.
(17) Disconnect the DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) from the DR41 drain tube.
(18) Disconnect the IDG drain tube (31) from the Main Gearbox (MGB) adapter.
(19) Remove the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803).
(20) Remove the ignition cables from the spring clips on the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22).
(21) Disconnect the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) from the DR121 drain tube.
(22) Disconnect the DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27) from the DR131 drain tube.
(23) Remove the drain tubes, middle line block (20) and upper line block (44) from the engine.
(24) Remove the middle line block (20) and upper line block (44) from the drain tubes.
(25) Installation of the protection covers
Subtask 71-71-49-020-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the four bolts (17), eight washers (16) and four nuts (15) that attach the two middle clamp-block brackets (18) and (21) to the Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI) bumper plate.
(2) Remove the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two middle clamp block brackets (18) and (21) together.
(3) Remove the two middle clamp block brackets (18) and (21) from the middle line block (20).
(4) Remove the bolt (23) and washer (24) that attach the forward fireloop rail to the DR121 pylon Left Hand (LH) drain tube (22).
(5) Remove the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two clamps (25) and (26), DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) and DR131 pylon Right Hand (RH) drain tube (27) together.
(6) Remove the bolt (29), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two clamps (30) and (32), DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) and Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) drain tube (31) together.
(7) Remove the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15) that attach the two clamps (30), DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) and DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) to the gearbox drains support bracket (33).
(8) Remove the bolt (36) and washer (16) that attach the two clamps (32) and (30), DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) and DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) to the gearbox drains support bracket (33).
(9) Remove the bolt (36) and washer (16) that attach the two clamps (30) and (32), FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) and DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) to the gearbox drains support plate (41).
(10) Remove the three bolts (42) and three washers (43) that attach the gearbox drains support bracket (33), upper line block (44) and gearbox drains support plate (41) to the gearbox.
(11) Disconnect the DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) from the DR51 drain tube.
(12) Disconnect the FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) from FB02 the drain tube.
(13) Disconnect the DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) from the DR01 drain tube.
(14) Disconnect the DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) from the DR65 drain tube.
(15) Disconnect the DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) from the DR22 drain tube.
(16) Disconnect the DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) from DR21 drain tube.
(17) Disconnect the DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) from the DR41 drain tube.
(18) Disconnect the IDG drain tube (31) from the Main Gearbox (MGB) adapter.
(19) Remove the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803).
(20) Remove the ignition cables from the spring clips on the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22).
(21) Disconnect the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) from the DR121 drain tube.
(22) Disconnect the DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27) from the DR131 drain tube.
(23) Remove the drain tubes, middle line block (20) and upper line block (44) from the engine.
(24) Remove the middle line block (20) and upper line block (44) from the drain tubes.
(25) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine. C. Removal of the Pylon Drain Hoses
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(2) Disconnect the LH forward pylon drain hose (50) from the pylon interface and engine drain tube.
(3) Disconnect the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) from the elbow (51) and engine drain tube.
(4) Remove the elbow (51) from the pylon interface.
(5) Disconnect the RH pylon drain hose (53) from the pylon interface and engine drain tube.
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(2) Disconnect the LH forward pylon drain hose (50) from the pylon interface and engine drain tube.
(3) Disconnect the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) from the elbow (51) and engine drain tube.
(4) Remove the elbow (51) from the pylon interface.
(5) Disconnect the RH pylon drain hose (53) from the pylon interface and engine drain tube.
