C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Depressurize the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems and put them in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems:
  • In the flight compartment near the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel.
  • On the ground service panels of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems.
   (4) Depressurize the reservoirs of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (5) Remove the blanking cap from the reservoir-pressurization ground connector (referred to as ground connector) on the reservoir pressurization unit 1360GM.
   (6) Connect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR to the ground connector.
NOTE: If the pressurizing tool is not available, you can use an alternative air supply. The supply must have a pressure of 5 bar (73 psi) and it must have a filter. The rating of the filter must be 5 microns or better.
As alternative to the air source, you can use the nitrogen source with 97A29102035000 CONNECTOR-PRESSURIZING,HYDRAULIC TANK.
   (7) Open the ground connector.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-14-00-720-050-B
A. Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the ground air supply:
  • Set the supply at 5 bar (73 psi).

2.Pressurize the reservoirs of the three hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
On the air pressure gages:
  • The pressure in each reservoir increases to 50 psig.
3.On the ground air supply:
  • Stop the supply of air to the reservoir pressurizing system.
  • Disconnect the ground supply from the ground connector 1391GM but keep the ground connector open.

On the air pressure gages:
  • The pressure in the reservoirs is constant.
4.On the ground connector 1391GM:
  • Close the ground connector.

5.On the water separator:
  • Push the drain valve in and hold it in the open position.
  • Release the drain valve of the water separator 1061GM and allow it to go to the closed position.

On the air pressure gages:
  • The pressure in the reservoirs is constant.
6.Depressurize the reservoirs of the three hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
On the air pressure gages:
  • The pressure in the reservoirs decreases to zero.
7.Start the APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008).

8.Set the bleed air supply from the APU to supply the reservoir pressurizing system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-710-001).
On the air pressure gages:
  • The pressure in each reservoir increases to between 20 and 40 psig.
9.Stop the operation of the APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).

10.Connect the ground air supply to the ground connector 1391GM of the air pressurization manifold 1370GM.

11.On the ground connector 1391GM:
  • Open the ground connector.

12.Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems to 50 psig (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
On the air pressure gages:
  • The pressure in the reservoirs increases to 50 psig.
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-14-00-860-051-B
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Close the ground connector and disconnect the ground air supply.
   (2) Install the blanking cap on the ground connector.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 29-14-00-410-054-A
