   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.

   (2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
  • Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
   (2) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • On the HYD section of panel 40VU
  • On access door 198CB, on the ground-service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (3) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

E. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-420-113-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Hydraulic Suction Hose
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
CAUTION: HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (4) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the hydraulic connections.
   (5) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (6) Install the hydraulic suction hose (1).
     (a) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) to the threads of the quick disconnect coupling (2).
     (b) Install the quick disconnect coupling (2) on the hydraulic suction hose (1).
     (c) Hold the quick disconnect coupling (2) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the hydraulic suction hose (1) fitting to between 1150 and 1000 lbf.in (13.00 and 11.30 m.daN ) T.
     (d) Connect the quick disconnect coupling (2) on the hydraulic suction hose (1) to the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel interface.
NOTE: Do not tighten the quick disconnect coupling (2) at this time.
     (e) Do an inspection of the packing of adapter for damage and leaks.
     (f) Connect the hydraulic suction hose (1) to the reducer.
NOTE: Do not torque the hydraulic suction hose (1) fitting at this time.
     (g) Adjust the hydraulic suction hose (1) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure that there are no kinks in the hydraulic suction hose (1).
     (h) Turn the quick disconnect coupling (2) sleeve until you fully engage the teeth and you cannot turn the quick disconnect coupling (2) sleeve more.
     (i) Hold the reducer with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the hydraulic suction hose (1) fitting to the reducer to between 1825 and 1520 lbf.in (20.62 and 17.18 m.daN )
T.
     (j) Apply the torque stripe on the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings.
       1 Clean the surface of the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.
PU1-0001) and acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Clean until you remove all the contamination you can see.
       2 Clean again the surface of the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Remove the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl becomes dry.
       3 Clean the surface of the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces one more time with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) .
       4 Mix the base primer (Material No.PU4-0010) with the activator (Material No.PU4-0011) and thinner (Material No.PU4-0012) . Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
       5 Paint a torque stripe on the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces with the base primer (Material No.PU4-0010) mixture.

A. Installation of the Hydraulic Suction Hose

     (e) Connect the hydraulic suction hose (1) to the union.
NOTE: Do not torque the hydraulic suction hose (1) fitting at this time.
     (f) Adjust the hydraulic suction hose (1) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure that there are no kinks in the hydraulic suction hose (1).
     (g) Turn the quick disconnect coupling (2) sleeve until you fully engage the teeth and you cannot turn the quick disconnect coupling (2) sleeve more.
     (h) Hold the union with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the hydraulic suction hose (1) fitting to the union to between 1825 and 1520 lbf.in (20.62 and 17.18 m.daN )
T.
     (i) Apply the torque stripe on the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings.
       1 Clean the surface of the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.
PU1-0001) and acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Clean until you remove all the contamination you can see.
       2 Clean again the surface of the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Remove the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl becomes dry.
       3 Clean the surface of the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces one more time with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) .
       4 Mix the base primer (Material No.PU4-0010) with the activator (Material No.PU4-0011) and thinner (Material No.PU4-0012) . Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
       5 Paint a torque stripe on the hydraulic suction hose (1) fittings and adjacent surfaces with the base primer (Material No.PU4-0010) mixture.
Subtask 29-13-49-820-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Adjustment of the Hydraulic Suction Hose
   (1) Measure the distance A:
     (a) Make sure that the hydraulic pressure hose (2) is installed at a distance of 32.69 -3.8 MM or +3.8 MM (1.287 -0.150 IN. or +0.150 IN.) from the flange of the cuff of the fuel hose (3).
     (b) If the distance A is not correct, remove and install the hydraulic pressure hose (2) again (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-49-000-807), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-49-400-807).
   (2) Measure the distance B:
     (a) Make sure that the hydraulic suction hose (1) is installed at a distance of 15.12 -3.8 MM or +3.8 MM (0.595 -0.150 IN. or +0.150 IN.) from the hydraulic pressure hose (2).
     (b) If the distance B is not correct, remove and install the hydraulic suction hose (1) again (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-49-000-806), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-49-400-806).
   (3) Measure the distance C:
     (a) Make sure that the cuff of the hydraulic suction hose (1) is installed at a distance of 6 IN. (152 MM) from the top of the cuff of the fuel hose (3).
   (4) If the distance C is not correct, remove and install the hydraulic suction hose (1) again (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-49-000-806), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-49-400-806).
Subtask 29-13-49-710-083-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Operational Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002)
   (2) After the dry motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the hydraulic connections.
   (3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-13-49-410-108-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Close the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
