Removal of the Hydraulic Suction Hose

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
Subtask 29-13-49-941-112-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.

(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
Subtask 29-13-49-010-118-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 29-13-49-010-119-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). E. Get Access
(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

A. Removal of the Hydraulic Suction Hose
(a) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic suction hose (1) and the hydraulic pump.
(b) Hold the reducer with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the reducer.
(c) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the lower end of the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(d) Disconnect the quick disconnect coupling (2) on the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel.
(e) Remove the hydraulic suction hose (1) and quick disconnect coupling (2) from the engine.
(f) Remove the quick disconnect coupling (2) from the hydraulic suction hose (1).
(g) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(2) Installation of the protection covers:
Subtask 29-13-49-020-121-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE TUBES OR HOSES OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
CAUTION:
HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
(1) Remove the hydraulic suction hose (1). (a) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic suction hose (1) and the hydraulic pump.
(b) Hold the reducer with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the reducer.
(c) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the lower end of the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(d) Disconnect the quick disconnect coupling (2) on the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel.
(e) Remove the hydraulic suction hose (1) and quick disconnect coupling (2) from the engine.
(f) Remove the quick disconnect coupling (2) from the hydraulic suction hose (1).
(g) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(2) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel interface, reducer, hydraulic suction hose (1) and quick disconnect coupling (2). A. Removal of the Hydraulic Suction Hose
(a) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic suction hose (1) and the hydraulic pump.
(b) Hold the union with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the union.
(c) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the lower end of the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(d) Disconnect the quick disconnect coupling (2) on the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel.
(e) Remove the hydraulic suction hose (1) and quick disconnect coupling (2) from the engine.
(f) Remove the quick disconnect coupling (2) from the hydraulic suction hose (1).
(g) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(2) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE TUBES OR HOSES OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
CAUTION:
HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
(1) Remove the hydraulic suction hose (1). (a) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic suction hose (1) and the hydraulic pump.
(b) Hold the union with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the union.
(c) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the lower end of the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(d) Disconnect the quick disconnect coupling (2) on the hydraulic suction hose (1) from the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel.
(e) Remove the hydraulic suction hose (1) and quick disconnect coupling (2) from the engine.
(f) Remove the quick disconnect coupling (2) from the hydraulic suction hose (1).
(g) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic suction hose (1) into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(2) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel interface, union, hydraulic suction hose (1) and quick disconnect coupling (2).
