Installation of the Damper
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
(4) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
Subtask 29-11-53-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the hydraulic safety procedures when you do work on the hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
(4) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the flaps are extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(6) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the access panel 573CB.
(7) Make sure that the access panels 573CB and 573EB are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-002).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with a clean lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
Subtask 29-11-53-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.

B. Installation of the Damper
(1) Install the new AIPC 29-11-05-03-220 O-RING (2) or AIPC 29-11-85-05-230 O-RING (2) on the damper (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-29-00-911-002).
(2) Install the damper (1) and the new O-ring (2) on the connector (3).
(3) TORQUE the damper (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).

Subtask 29-11-53-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the new AIPC 29-11-05-03-220 O-RING (2) or AIPC 29-11-85-05-230 O-RING (2) on the damper (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-29-00-911-002).
(2) Install the damper (1) and the new O-ring (2) on the connector (3).
(3) TORQUE the damper (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(4) Safety the damper (1) to the connector (3) with new C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Pressurize the Green Hydraulic System
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
(2) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(3) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
Subtask 29-11-53-720-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
(2) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(3) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
E. Test
(1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
(2) Do a check of the damper (1) and the connector (3) for leaks.
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
(2) Do a check of the damper (1) and the connector (3) for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panels 573EB and 573CB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-400-002).

(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(6) Remove the safety barrier(s).
(7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Remove the container.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Retract the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
(4) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(6) Remove the safety barrier(s).
(7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
