A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 29-11-49-860-151-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key:
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the HYD page comes into view.
   (5) On overhead panel 20VU:
  • Lift the guard and release the ENG1/FIRE pushbutton switch.
   (6) On the lower ECAM DU, on the HYD page:
  • Make sure that the fire shutoff valve (1046GK) is closed.

C. Safety Precautions
   (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
   (2) Open access door 197CB:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
   (3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
   (4) Open access door 195BB:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
   (5) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
  • Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
   (6) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

G. Get Access
   (1) Remove these access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
   (2) Remove the rear pylon fairing (RPF) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
   (3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zones 410 and 470.

H. Removal of Components
   (1) Remove the fire extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
   (2) Remove the engine fire-extinguishing pipe (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-49-000-803).
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-49-020-133-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon
   (1) Removal of the hydraulic pipe (3):
     (a) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (3) from the hydraulic filter Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (35).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (b) Install a WRENCH - CROWFOOT on the flats of the pylon manifold to hold it.
     (c) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (3) from the pylon manifold.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Put CAP - BLANKING on the open port of the pylon manifold.
     (d) Remove the clamps (50), (51) and (52) and the spacers (55) and (54).
       1 Remove the nut (53).
       2 Remove the bolt (49) and the washer (56).
       3 Remove the clamps (50), (51) and (52) and the spacers (55) and (54).
     (e) Remove the hydraulic pipe (3).
     (f) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (2) Removal of the hydraulic pipe (36):
     (a) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (36) from the pylon/wing interface.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (b) Remove the clamp (41).
       1 Remove the bolts (40) and the washers (42) that attach the clamp (41) to the structure.
       2 Remove the clamp (41) from the structure.
     (c) Remove the clamp (46).
       1 Remove the bolts (48) and the washers (47) that attach the clamp (46) to the structure.
       2 Remove the clamp (46) from the structure.
     (d) Hold the hydraulic pipe (36) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic pipe (5).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (e) Remove the hydraulic pipe (36).
     (f) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (3) Removal of the hydraulic hose (39):
     (a) Disconnect the hydraulic hose (39) from the pylon/wing interface.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (b) Remove the clamp (57).
       1 Remove the bolts (59) and the washers (58) that attach the clamp (57) to the structure.
       2 Remove the clamp (57) from the structure.
     (c) Hold the hydraulic hose (39) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic pipe (4).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (d) Remove the hydraulic hose (39) from the pylon.
     (e) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (4) Removal of the hydraulic pipe (38):
     (a) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (38) from the pylon/wing interface.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (b) Remove the clamp (43).
       1 Remove the bolts (45) and the washers (44) that attach the clamp (43) to the structure.
       2 Remove the clamp (43) from the structure.
     (c) Removal of the support (97):
       1 Hold the support (97) and remove the bolts (94) and the washers (95).
       2 Remove the support (97) from the structure.
     (d) Hold the support (96) and remove the hydraulic pipe (38).
     (e) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (5) Remove the support (96) from the structure.
   (6) Removal of the hydraulic hose (37):
     (a) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (2) from the hydraulic pipe (37).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (b) Disconnect the hydraulic hose (37) from the pylon/wing interface and remove it from the pylon.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (c) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
Subtask 29-11-49-020-132-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Removal of the Forward and Middle Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the connections of the hydraulic lines.
   (2) Removal of the hydraulic pipes (1) and (7):
     (a) Disconnect the hydraulic pipes (1) and (7) from the pylon fuel-hydraulic plate (80).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (b) Hold the hydraulic pipe (1) and disconnect it from the hydraulic pipe (6).
     (c) Remove the hydraulic pipe (1).
     (d) Hold the hydraulic pipe (7) and disconnect it from the hydraulic pipe (2).
     (e) Remove the hydraulic pipe (7).
     (f) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (3) Removal of the hydraulic pipes (2) and (6):
     (a) Remove the bolts (8) and the washers (9) that attach the hydraulic pipe (6) to the structure.
     (b) Remove the bolts (10) and the washers (11) that attach the hydraulic pipe (2) to the structure.
     (c) Remove the half clamp blocks (28) and (34).
       1 Remove the nuts (31).
       2 Remove the bolts (26) and the washers (27) that attach the half clamp block (28) to the half clamp block (34).
       3 Hold the half clamp block (28) and remove the bolts (29) and the washers (30).
       4 Remove the half clamp block (28).
       5 Hold the half clamp block (34) and remove the bolts (32) and the washers (33).
       6 Remove the half clamp block (34).
     (d) Install the WRENCH - CROWFOOT on the flats of the pylon manifold to hold it.
     (e) Remove the clamps (12).
       1 Remove the bolts (13) and the washers (14) that attach the clamps (12) to the structure.
       2 Remove the clamps (12).
     (f) Remove the hydraulic pipe (2) from the pylon.
     (g) Remove the clamps (17).
       1 Remove the bolts (15) and the washers (16) that attach the clamp (17) to the structure.
       2 Remove the clamp (17).
     (h) Remove the hydraulic pipe (6) from the pylon.
     (i) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (4) Removal of the hydraulic pipes (4) and (5):
     (a) Removal of the support (98):
       1 Remove the bolts (102), washers (101) and clamp (105).
       2 Remove the bolt (103) and washer (104) that attach the support (98) to the structure.
       3 Remove the bolts (100) and washers (99) that attach the support (98) to the structure.
       4 Remove the support (98) from the structure.
     (b) Removal of the support (83):
       1 Remove the bolts (87), washers (86) and clamp (85).
       2 Remove the bolts (88), washers (89) and clamp (84).
       3 Remove the bolts (90) and washers (91) that attach the support (83) to the structure.
       4 Remove the bolts (93) and washers (92) that attach the support (83) to the structure.
       5 Remove the support (83) from the structure.
     (c) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (81) from the hydraulic pipe (4).
     (d) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (82) from the hydraulic pipe (5).
     (e) Remove the sealant from the head of the bolts (18) with SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
     (f) Remove the bolts (18) and the washers (19) that attach the hydraulic tube (4) to the structure.
     (g) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (4) from the structure.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (h) Remove the sealant from the head of the bolts (20) with SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
     (i) Remove the bolts (20) and the washers (21) that attach the hydraulic pipe (5) to the structure.
     (j) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe (5) from the structure.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (k) Remove the clamp blocks (23).
       1 Remove the bolts (25) and washers (24) that attach the clamp blocks (23) to the structure.
       2 Remove the clamp blocks (23).
     (l) Remove the clamp block (107).
       1 Remove the nuts (106), bolts (109) and washers (108).
       2 Remove the clamp block (107).
     (m) Remove the hydraulic pipes (4) and (5).
   (5) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
