A. Installation of the Tubing with HARRISON Sleeves and Fittings
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT YOU USE FOR THIS PROCEDURE IS CLEAN AND APPROVED FOR THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. IF NOT IT CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
   (1) Make sure that all the equipment items to be connected are in the correct position. This will prevent subsequent removal of the tubing.
   (2) Make sure that you flush the lines before installation and that the threads of the fittings are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (4) Make sure that the tubing ends, the sleeves and the unions are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Make sure that the tubes are in the correct condition.
   (6) Make sure that the tubes for the potable water are correctly identified Tape NSA 0141-25A.
   (7) Make sure that the tubes for the air supply system are correctly identified Tape NSA 0141-16A.
NOTE: Discard tubes that have indentations with a depth of more than 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.). Two causes are possible for these indentations:
  • A torque value that was too high during installation.
  • Installation and removal too many times.
   (8) Apply Lubricant-Rubber seal Glycerin - (Material No.03PEB1) on the thread of the tubes.
   (9) Put the tubing in position.
   (10) Make sure that the electrical bonds are correct (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (11) Torque the connections to the applicable values (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends to torque the connections only if the swivel nuts are installed manually without resistance and decrease the torque by 25% at the critical connections.
   (12) Install the potable-water de-icing heater elements:

   (5) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the disconnected line end(s).
   (6) Put the new O-rings (5) in position on the flanges (2) of the tubes (1) and (3).
   (7) Make sure that the O-rings (5) are not twisted.
   (8) Apply a thin layer of Lubricant-Rubber seal Glycerin - (Material No.03PEB1) on the O-rings (5).
NOTE: This is:
  • For the smooth installation of the sleeve (6).
  • To prevent contamination of the potable water.
   (9) Make sure that the minimum distance D1 between the flanges (2) of the tubes (1) and (3) is 6.35 mm (0.25 in.).
   (10) Apply Lubricant-Rubber seal Glycerin - (Material No.03PEB1) on the inner side of the sleeve (6).
   (11) Make sure that the ends of the tubes (1) and (3) are correctly aligned.
   (12) Install one end of the sleeve (6) on the tube (1) and the second end of the sleeve (6) on the tube (3).
   (13) Make sure that the sleeve (6) is installed in the correct position on the ends of the tubes (1) and (3).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT EACH CLAMP IS CORRECTLY LOCKED. IF A CLAMP IS NOT CORRECTLY LOCKED, IT CAN OPEN SUDDENLY AND A LEAK CAN OCCUR.
   (14) Install and lock the clamp (4) on the sleeve (6).
NOTE: If you hear a click, this is not an indication that the clamp (4) is correctly closed.
   (15) Make sure that the locking system of the clamp (4) is correctly engaged.
   (16) If removed, install the heater bridges on the tubes (1) and (3).
   (17) If removed, install the potable-water de-icing heater-elements (Ref. AMM TASK 30-73-53-400-001).
   (18) If removed, install insulation packs on the tubes (1) and (3).

C. Installation of the Protection Hose Assembly
   (1) Make sure that all the items of equipment are installed in the correct position. This will prevent subsequent removal of the tubes (6) and (8).
   (2) Make sure that a CONTAINER - CLEAN, APPLICABLE is in position below the potable water line to collect the unwanted water.
   (3) Make sure that the clamp (7) is correctly engaged. If not, do the step 4.B. again.
   (4) Move the protection hoses (1) and (4) sufficiently to install the straight half shells (3).
   (5) Put the straight half shells (3) in position around the clamp (7).
   (6) Move the protection hoses (1) and (4) along the tubes (6) and (8) to put a cover on the straight half shells (3).
   (7) Install the clamps (5) on the protection hoses (1) and (4) with the clamp screws (2).
