Pressurization of the Potable Water System from a Ground Air Supply
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPEN THE ELECTRICAL DRAIN VALVES FOR LONGER THAN NECESSARY IF YOU USE THE APU OR ENGINE(S) TO PRESSURIZE THE SYSTEM. IF THE VALVES STAY OPEN TOO LONG THE HOT BLEED AIR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TANK QUANTITY TRANSMITTER.
NOTE: You can pressurize the potable water system with the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU). When you start the APU, the system will start to pressurize automatically (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-003) (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005) (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008). The system will also automatically pressurize when the primary engines are started.

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at Zone 171.
(2) Open the service door 171AL.

A. Pressurization of the Potable Water System
(1) Connect the AIR SOURCE 6.9 BAR (100 PSI) - REGULATED,FILTERED, DRY to the ground air connection at the service panel 2023VU.
(2) Open the air pressurization valve (1).
(3) Operate the ground air supply to a pressure of 44 +3 -3 psi (3.03 +0.2 -0.2 bar).
(4) Close the air pressurization valve (1).
(5) Shut off the ground air supply.
(6) Remove the ground air-supply source.
(7) If necessary depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
5. Close-up(1) Connect the AIR SOURCE 6.9 BAR (100 PSI) - REGULATED,FILTERED, DRY to the ground air connection at the service panel 2023VU.
(2) Open the air pressurization valve (1).
(3) Operate the ground air supply to a pressure of 44 +3 -3 psi (3.03 +0.2 -0.2 bar).
(4) Close the air pressurization valve (1).
(5) Shut off the ground air supply.
(6) Remove the ground air-supply source.
(7) If necessary depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the service door 171AL.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
