WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 79-21-06-960-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Replacement of the Oil Filter Element
   (1) Drain the oil as follows:
     (a) Wait five minutes after the engine shutdown.
     (b) Open and close the oil tank cap to make sure that there is no pressure in the oil system (Ref. AMM TASK 79-11-02-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 79-11-02-400-801).
     (c) Make sure that the oil tank cap is closed and locked.
   (2) Drain the oil from the main oil filter cover (6) as follows:
F Oil Filter Element ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) If you plan to visually inspect the main oil filter element for contamination, you must save the oil that is drained from the main oil filter cover.
     (b) Make sure that the fluid drain CONTAINER 20 L (5.3 USGAL) - OIL RESISTANT used to keep the drained oil is clean and dry before it is used.
     (c) Put the fluid drain CONTAINER 20 L (5.3 USGAL) - OIL RESISTANT under the main oil filter cover (6).
     (d) Remove the drain plug (3).
     (e) Remove and discard the packing (2).
     (f) Drain the oil.
   (3) Remove the main oil filter cover (6) from the oil filter housing as follows:
     (a) Remove the six nuts (4) and washers (5).
     (b) Use the two 10-32 UNF jackscrews to equally disengage the cover (6) from the oil filter housing.
     (c) Remove the main oil filter cover (6).
     (d) Remove and discard the packing (7).
   (4) Remove the main oil filter element (1) from the oil filter housing as follows:
     (a) Remove the main oil filter element (1).
     (b) Put the main oil filter element (1) in the clean BAG - PLASTIC for subsequent inspection.
     (c) Examine the inside of the oil filter housing to make sure that the filter element packings do not remain inside the housing.
     (d) Use the FLASHLIGHT to examine the inside of the cover (6) and the inside of the oil filter housing for any contamination.
       1 If you see any contamination, collect it with a P05-005wipe, lint-free and put it in the bag with the oil filter element (1).
     (e) Wipe clean the inside of the main oil filter cover (6) and oil filter housing with a P05-005wipe, lint-free.
   (5) Send the element (1) to the shop for analysis, if necessary, as follows:
     (a) Make a record of the aircraft tail number, engine serial number and date.
     (b) Send the element (1) to the shop for analysis.
   (6) Install the new main oil filter element (1) and the main oil filter cover (6) as follows:
F Oil Filter Element ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: DO NOT USE AN OLD FILTER ELEMENT AGAIN. MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL A NEW FILTER ELEMENT. THE OLD FILTER ELEMENT CAN BE CLOGGED AND HAVE CONTAMINATION.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE FILTER AND CAP CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE AN IN-FLIGHT SHUTDOWN.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE COVER RETAINING BOLTS TO PULL THE COVER INTO THE HOUSING. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PACKING.
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the new EIPC 79-21-06-01-110 PACKING (7).
     (b) Install the packing (7) on the main oil filter cover (6).
     (c) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the threads of the oil filter housing.
     (d) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the oil filter element packings.
     (e) Install the new main
EIPC 79-21-06-01-100 MAIN-OIL FILTER ELEMENT (1) into the oil filter housing.
     (f) Align the main oil filter cover (6) in position on the oil filter housing, push the cover of the housing until the flange of the cover touches the housing.
     (g) Install the main oil filter cover (6) on the oil filter housing with the six nuts (4) and washers (5).
     (h) TORQUE the six nuts (4) to between 250 and 200 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.26 m.daN )
T equally in an opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds.
     (i) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the new
EIPC 79-21-06-01-150 PACKING (2).
     (j) Install the new
EIPC 79-21-06-01-150 PACKING (2) on the plug (3).
     (k) Apply P06-036compound, antigallant on the plug (3).
     (l) Install the plug (3) on the main oil filter cover (6).
     (m) TORQUE the plug (3) to between 250 and 200 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.26 m.daN )

   (7) Do the engine oil servicing (
Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-610-801).
   (8) Examine the assembly for unwanted objects, damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
