3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-32-41-941-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

D. Deploy the blocker door manually (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001).

E. Install the HIX3005 SAFETY SLEEVE - PIVOTING DOOR ACTUATOR on the blocker door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-480-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-41-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do a visual inspection of the blocker door as follows:

REMARKS
1.Examine the blocker door for:


A.Delamination
1.5 in. (38.1 mm) maximum length.
Monitor at 750 Flight Hours / 750 Flight Cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)

7.4 in. (188 mm) minimum distance from other delaminations, holes or cracks.
It is recommended that all delaminations be repaired no later than 7500 Flight Hours / 5000 Flight Cycles / 24 calendar months (whichever the earliest)

Five delaminations maximum per blocker door.
If the delaminations are not in the serviceable limits, replace the blocker door. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-002).
B.Abrasion
No carbon fiber damage permitted.
Monitor at 750 Flight Hours / 750 Flight Cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)


Seal surface damage (Paint and surface resin only) with aerodynamic tape (Material No.CP2517) .


Replace tape if peeled.


If there is carbon fiber damage, replace the blocker door. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-002).
C.Crack
1.0 in. (25.4 mm) maximum length in any direction.
Monitor at 750 Flight Hours / 750 Flight Cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)

7.4 in. (188 mm) minimum distance from other cracks, holes or delaminations.
Seal damaged area from entrance of moisture with aerodynamic tape (Material No.CP2517) .

Five cracks maximum per blocker door.
If the crack is not in the serviceable limits, replace the blocker door. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-002).
D.Gouge
0.008 in. (0.2 mm) maximum depth over a 8.0 in. (203.2 mm) length
Monitor at 750 Flight Hours / 750 Flight Cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)


Seal damaged area from entrance of moisture with aerodynamic tape (Material No.CP2517) .


Replace tape if peeled or damaged.


If gouge is not in the serviceable limits, replace the blocker door. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-002).
E.Hole
1.0 in. (25.4 mm) maximum diameter.
Monitor at 750 Flight Hours / 750 Flight Cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)

7.4 in. (188 mm) minimum distance from other holes, cracks or delaminations.
Seal damaged area from entrance of moisture with aerodynamic tape (Material No.CP2517) .

Five holes maximum per blocker door.
If the hole is not in the serviceable limits, replace the blocker door. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-002).
F.Nick, scratch
0.008 in. (0.2 mm) maximum depth over a 8.0 in. (203.2 mm) length.
Monitor at 750 Flight Hours / 750 Flight Cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
Seal damaged area from entrance of moisture with aerodynamic tape (Material No.CP2517) .


Replace tape if peeled or damaged.


If the nick or scratch is not in the serviceable limits, replace the blocker door. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001).
2.Examine the kicker plate for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted.
If there is damage, replace the kicker plate. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-004).
3.Inspect the latch fitting and the roller for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted.
If there is damage, replace the latch fitting. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-003).
B.Crack
No crack permitted.
If there is a crack, replace the latch fitting. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-003).
C.Jamming
The roller must be free to turn.
If the roller is not free to turn inspect it, (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-200-041) and reinstall it. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-003).
4.Examine the pivot access door for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted.
If you find some damage or missing, replace the defective part. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-002).
5.Examine the access door for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted.
If you find some damage or missing, replace the defective part. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-002).
5. Close-up
Subtask 78-32-41-080-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the HIX3005 SAFETY SLEEVE - PIVOTING DOOR ACTUATOR from the blocker door actuator without making thrust reverser operational (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-080-001).
Subtask 78-32-41-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Stow the blocker door:
CAUTION: BLOCKER DOOR LATCH MUST BE OPENED WHEN YOU CLOSE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
   (3) Move the blocker door to the stow position manually (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-002).

C. Make sure of the alignment of the blocker door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-820-001).

D. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).

E. Close Access
   (1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL 438AR
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
