A. Measure the mismatch space between the blocker door and the fan cowl.
(1) If the blocker door is in negative step, the mismatch space must be less than 0.118 in. (3.0 mm). If the measure is not in the permissible limits, go to step B.
(2) If the blocker door is in positive step, the mismatch space must be less than 0.047 in. (1.2 mm). If the measure is not in the permissible limits, go to step B.
(3) If the mismatch space is correct go to step C.

(3) If the mismatch space is correct go to step C.
B. Adjust the latch fittings on the blocker doors
(2) Manually move the blocker door to the open position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001) .
(3) Loosen four bolts that attach the latch fitting to the thrust reverser frame.
(4) If the blocker door is in positive step, pull up the latch fitting the needed number of teeth to remove the mismatch. One tooth corresponds to 0.75 mm (0.03 in.).
(5) If the blocker door is in negative step, push down the latch fitting the needed number of teeth to remove the mismatch.
(6) TORQUE the bolts to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
.
(7) Close the blocker door:
(8) Close the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
(9) Do step 4.A. again.
Subtask 78-32-41-820-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) on all nuts and connections when you have done the check of their torques.
(1) Open the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
CAUTION:
BLOCKER DOOR LATCH MUST BE OPENED WHEN YOU CLOSE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(a) Manually move the blocker door to the closed position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-002). (8) Close the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
(9) Do step 4.A. again.
C. Verify Primary Door Latch (PDL) Engagement
(1) Open the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
(2) Manually bring the blocker door to deploy position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001).
(3) Clean the PDL finger and the PDL casting with cleaner (Material No.08BBB1) , or equivalent, and wipe with a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) To prevent the plasticine (Material No.14VGF1) from sticking to the PDL finger, apply a coating of lubricant (Material No.03ABA1) , or equivalent, in the area where the plasticine (Material No.14VGF1) will make contact.
(5) With pivot door open and hydraulics disabled, place approx. 0.125 in. (3.175 mm) diameter sphere of plasticine (Material No.14VGF1) or equivalent clay, on the PDL casting.
(6) Manually bring the blocker door to stow position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-002).
(7) Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-040).
(8) Cycle the thrust reverser one time (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-042).
(9) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable again (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
(10) Manually bring the blocker door to deploy position again (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001).
(11) Measure the minimum plasticine (Material No.14VGF1) thickness. Record the door position and the remaining thickness of the plasticine (Material No.14VGF1) .
(a) Make sure all plasticine (Material No.14VGF1) is removed from PDL and surrounding area.
(12) Carry out the following based on your findings:
(a) If the thickness is between 0.000 in. (0 mm) and 0.010 in. (0.254 mm), go to step 5.
(b) If the thickness is greater than 0.010 in. (0.2540 mm): Pull the latch fitting inwards - toward the engine the number of teeth until thickness is less than 0.010 in. (0.2540 mm). Then do step 4. B again to re-check the door exterior surface alignment.
(c) If the full PDL travel (with hydraulic retract pressure applied) and external door fairness limits (with hydraulics off) cannot be met, replace pivot door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
5. Close-up(1) Open the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
(2) Manually bring the blocker door to deploy position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001).
