A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
Subtask 78-32-41-010-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

A. Installation of the Upper Blocker Door
(a) Install the handling sling on the blocker door where the actuator clevis was removed.
(b) Tighten the knurled knob to attach the sling.
(3) Put the blocker door in deployed position with a crane.
(4) Install the two pivot bolts, washers and the castellated nuts.
(5) Measure the breakaway torques (A) of the two castellated nuts.
(6) TORQUE each nut to between 1022.7 and 925.3 lbf.in (11.56 and 10.46 m.daN )
plus torque A.
(7) Loosen the two nuts.
(8) Measure the breakaway torques (B) of the two nuts again.
(9) TORQUE each nut to between 797 and 531 lbf.in (9.01 and 6.00 m.daN )
plus torque B.
(10) Install new AIPC 78-32-41-01-022 COTTER PIN (30) or AIPC 78-32-41-01-372 COTTER PIN (30) and AIPC 78-32-41-01-022 COTTER PIN (20) or AIPC 78-32-41-01-372 COTTER PIN (20).
(11) Apply a thin layer molykote G rapid (Material No.CP2104) on the contact finger pin.
(12) Attach the contact finger pin with the bolts.
(13) TORQUE the bolts to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
.
(14) Install the pivot access doors:
(a) Attach the two pivot access doors to the blocker door with the screws.
(b) TORQUE screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
.
(15) Install the hinge access panel:
(a) Attach the access panel to the top of the thrust reverser with the 12 screws.
(b) TORQUE the screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
.
(16) Remove the HIX1003 HANDLING BRACKET-PIVOTING DOOR:
(a) Loosen the knurled knob.
(b) Remove the blocker door handling sling.
(17) Install the hydraulic actuator clevis on the blocker door:
(a) Attach the clevis on the blocker door with the four bolts and the washers.
(b) TORQUE the bolts to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
.
(18) Install the clevis access door on the blocker door:
(a) Attach the clevis access door to the upper blocker door with the eight screws.
(b) TORQUE the screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
.
(19) Install the deploy-switch access door:
(a) Attach the deploy-switch access door with the three screws.
(b) TORQUE the screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
.
(20) Stow the blocker door:
(21) Make sure that the blocker door is correctly aligned (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-820-001).
(a) Make sure that the lockout bolt hole in the blocker door is aligned with the fitting hole.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
DO NOT PUSH ON THE STOW SWITCH LEVER WHEN BLOCKER DOOR IS OPENED OR DAMAGE COULD OCCUR.
(1) Install the HIX1003 HANDLING BRACKET-PIVOTING DOOR: (a) Install the handling sling on the blocker door where the actuator clevis was removed.
(b) Tighten the knurled knob to attach the sling.
NOTE: Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) on all nuts and connections when you have done the check of their torques.
(2) Apply a thin layer of molykote G rapid (Material No.CP2104) on the pivot bolts. (3) Put the blocker door in deployed position with a crane.
(4) Install the two pivot bolts, washers and the castellated nuts.
(5) Measure the breakaway torques (A) of the two castellated nuts.
(6) TORQUE each nut to between 1022.7 and 925.3 lbf.in (11.56 and 10.46 m.daN )
plus torque A. (7) Loosen the two nuts.
(8) Measure the breakaway torques (B) of the two nuts again.
(9) TORQUE each nut to between 797 and 531 lbf.in (9.01 and 6.00 m.daN )
plus torque B. (10) Install new AIPC 78-32-41-01-022 COTTER PIN (30) or AIPC 78-32-41-01-372 COTTER PIN (30) and AIPC 78-32-41-01-022 COTTER PIN (20) or AIPC 78-32-41-01-372 COTTER PIN (20).
(11) Apply a thin layer molykote G rapid (Material No.CP2104) on the contact finger pin.
(12) Attach the contact finger pin with the bolts.
(13) TORQUE the bolts to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (14) Install the pivot access doors:
(a) Attach the two pivot access doors to the blocker door with the screws.
(b) TORQUE screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (15) Install the hinge access panel:
(a) Attach the access panel to the top of the thrust reverser with the 12 screws.
(b) TORQUE the screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (16) Remove the HIX1003 HANDLING BRACKET-PIVOTING DOOR:
(a) Loosen the knurled knob.
(b) Remove the blocker door handling sling.
(17) Install the hydraulic actuator clevis on the blocker door:
(a) Attach the clevis on the blocker door with the four bolts and the washers.
(b) TORQUE the bolts to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
. (18) Install the clevis access door on the blocker door:
(a) Attach the clevis access door to the upper blocker door with the eight screws.
(b) TORQUE the screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (19) Install the deploy-switch access door:
(a) Attach the deploy-switch access door with the three screws.
(b) TORQUE the screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (20) Stow the blocker door:
CAUTION:
BLOCKER DOOR LATCH MUST BE OPENED WHEN YOU CLOSE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(a) Manually move the blocker door to the closed position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-002). (21) Make sure that the blocker door is correctly aligned (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-820-001).
(a) Make sure that the lockout bolt hole in the blocker door is aligned with the fitting hole.

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 78-32-41-710-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
C. Do an operational test:
(1) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-042).

NOTE: As an alternative procedure you can do this operational test without the CFDS:
- first method with engine not running (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-043)
- second method with engine running (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-043).
