A. Start the engine 1(2) and let it become stable at ground idle (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003).
4. Procedure

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE ENGINE IN REVERSE THRUST WITH THE FAN COWL DOORS OPEN. IF THE DOORS ARE OPEN, DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND THE DOORS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: CAREFULLY MONITOR THE ECAM DISPLAY UNIT FOR A POSSIBLE STALL WARNING DURING THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE THRUST REVERSERS. STOP THE ENGINE IF THERE IS A STALL WARNING OR IF THE EGT INCREASES TO 725 DEG.C.
A. Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.Set the thrust reverser control lever of the engine 1(2) to the reverse idle position (detent).
On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The amber REV indication comes into view in the N1 indication of the engine 1(2) during the deployment.
  • The REV indication changes to green when the blocker doors are deployed and locked.
2.Set the throttle control lever of the engine 1(2) to the idle stop position (the zero mark on the graduated scale).
On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The REV indication in the N1 indication of the engine 1(2) changes to amber during the stowage of the blocker doors.
  • The REV indication goes out of view when the blocker doors are stowed and locked.
5. Close-up

A. Shut down the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).
