YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-00-210-097-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. GVI of the Thrust Reverser Latches
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Find the latches on the bottom of the left thrust reverser door.
(3) Examine the latches on the left thrust reverser door for cracks, gouges, corrosion and broken parts. If you find damage, replace the latch (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
(4) Examine the inner failsafe pin, outer failsafe pin, bolts, washers, retention cap and nuts on the latches for loose and missing parts. If you find damage, replace the damaged or missing part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-400-801).

(4) Examine the inner failsafe pin, outer failsafe pin, bolts, washers, retention cap and nuts on the latches for loose and missing parts. If you find damage, replace the damaged or missing part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-400-801).
B. GVI of the Thrust Reverser Keepers
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact UTAS for disposition.
(2) Find the bolts and the hardware used as keepers on the bottom of the right thrust reverser door.
(3) Examine the inner failsafe pin, outer failsafe pin, washer, retention cap, washer and nut for cracks, gouges, corrosion and broken parts. If you find damage, replace the part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-400-802).
(4) Examine the bolts, washers and nuts used as the keepers for the latches on the right thrust reverser. Look for loose, missing or damaged parts. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-400-802).
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact UTAS for disposition.
(2) Find the bolts and the hardware used as keepers on the bottom of the right thrust reverser door.
(3) Examine the inner failsafe pin, outer failsafe pin, washer, retention cap, washer and nut for cracks, gouges, corrosion and broken parts. If you find damage, replace the part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-400-802).
(4) Examine the bolts, washers and nuts used as the keepers for the latches on the right thrust reverser. Look for loose, missing or damaged parts. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-75-400-802).
