YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the right thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Keepers
(1) Remove the No. 1 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the four bolts (1) that attach the thermo-shield (2) to the latch beam.
(b) Remove the nut (3), washer (4), nut (5), retention cap (6), inner fail-safe pin (7) and outer fail-safe pin (8) from the latch beam.
(2) Remove the No. 2 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the right aft latch beam blanket from the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-71-000-802).
(b) Remove the nut (9), washers (10) and (11), and bolt (12) from the latch beam.
(3) Remove the No. 3 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the track lock cover (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-000-801).
(b) Remove the nut (15), washers (16) and (17) and bolt (18) from the latch beam.
(4) Remove the No. 4 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the latch beam panel (19).
1 Remove the four bolts (20) that attach the latch beam panel (19) to the latch beam.
2 Remove the latch beam panel (19) from the latch beam.
(b) Remove the nut (21), washers (22) and (23) and bolt (24) from the latch beam.
(5) Remove the No. 5 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the right lower aft barrel blanket from the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-71-000-802).
(b) Remove the nut (25), washers (26) and (27) and bolt (28) from the aft latch housing.
(1) Remove the No. 1 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the four bolts (1) that attach the thermo-shield (2) to the latch beam.
(b) Remove the nut (3), washer (4), nut (5), retention cap (6), inner fail-safe pin (7) and outer fail-safe pin (8) from the latch beam.
(2) Remove the No. 2 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the right aft latch beam blanket from the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-71-000-802).
(b) Remove the nut (9), washers (10) and (11), and bolt (12) from the latch beam.
(3) Remove the No. 3 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the track lock cover (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-000-801).
(b) Remove the nut (15), washers (16) and (17) and bolt (18) from the latch beam.
(4) Remove the No. 4 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the latch beam panel (19).
1 Remove the four bolts (20) that attach the latch beam panel (19) to the latch beam.
2 Remove the latch beam panel (19) from the latch beam.
(b) Remove the nut (21), washers (22) and (23) and bolt (24) from the latch beam.
(5) Remove the No. 5 latch keeper.
(a) Remove the right lower aft barrel blanket from the inner fixed structure (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-71-000-802).
(b) Remove the nut (25), washers (26) and (27) and bolt (28) from the aft latch housing.
