A. Installation of the TRAS Actuator Proximity-Sensors
PU5-0007 anti-seize compound, zinc dust petrolatum on the threads of the two proximity sensors (6), the mating surfaces of the two new EIPC 78-32-05-55-453 TAB WASHERS (4) or the EIPC 78-32-06-55-453 TAB WASHERS (4) and the two lock nuts (5).
(b) Put the proximity sensors (6) on the feedback locking actuator. Make sure that the sensors (6) are correctly in the keyway on the feedback locking actuator.
(c)
(e) TORQUE the lock nuts (5) to between 119 and 108 lbf.in (1.34 and 1.22 m.daN )
.
(f) Make sure the clearance to the targets is correct.
(g) (h) (i) Find the average distance of step (2)(g) and step (2)(h). Add the two distances and divide the sum by two.
(j) Make sure the average distance you calculated in step (2)(i) is between 0.8575 IN. (21.78 MM) and 0.8614 IN. (21.88 MM). If the distance is not within the limits, replace the feedback locking actuator or contact Collin Aerospace for disposition.
(k) (l) If necessary, tighten the lock nuts (5) more to adjust the position of the lock nuts (5). Do not loosen the lock nuts (5) to get the correct position.
(n) Examine the installation of the tab washers (4). Make sure that:
1 The location tab is in the location tab hole.
2 The anti-rotation tabs are bent and flush against the flat side of the lock nuts (5).
3 The anti-rotation tabs prevent the rotation of the lock nuts (5).
4 There are no sharp corners, nicks or cracks at the bend of the anti-rotation tabs.
5 There is no damage to surfaces or protective treatment of the lock nuts (5) or mating components.
(o) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the TRAS monitoring harness and the feedback locking actuator.
(p) Connection of the electrical connectors:
