C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 77-11-21-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-doors is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-doors is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Installation of the N1 Speed Probe
(2) Make sure that you wipe clean all the parts and tools to remove contamination and to prevent damage to the engine.
(3) Install the N1 speed probe (1) as follows:
(a) ApplyP03-001 lubricant, aircraft turbine engine to the new EIPC 77-11-21-01-080 PACKING (3) and new EIPC 77-11-21-01-090 PACKING (4).
(b) Install the new packings (3) and (4) into the grooves on the probe (1).
(c) Install the probe (1) on the compressor intermediate case and push the probe (1) in to completely engage the case.
(d) Attach the probe (1) to the compressor intermediate case with the two bolts (2).
(e) TORQUE the bolts (2) equally and in small increments to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
.
(4) Install the wiring harness (W03) connector (P48) to the probe receptacle (J48) as follows:
(a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
(b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(e) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(5) Install the wiring harness (W04) connector (P47) on the probe receptacle (J47) as follows:
(a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
(b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(e) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(6) Examine the assembly for unwanted objects, damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-upWARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
(1) Removal of protection covers: CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Make sure that you wipe clean all the parts and tools to remove contamination and to prevent damage to the engine.
(3) Install the N1 speed probe (1) as follows:
(a) Apply
(b) Install the new packings (3) and (4) into the grooves on the probe (1).
(c) Install the probe (1) on the compressor intermediate case and push the probe (1) in to completely engage the case.
(d) Attach the probe (1) to the compressor intermediate case with the two bolts (2).
(e) TORQUE the bolts (2) equally and in small increments to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

(3) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802).
