Installation of the Left Variable Stator Vane (VSV) Actuator
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 75-32-05-010-060-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
Subtask 75-32-05-010-061-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the left thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the left thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

A. Installation of the Left Variable Stator Vane (VSV) Actuator
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Install the sleeve (68) in the left VSV actuator (49).
(3) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) on the threads of the bolt (58), bolt (59), bolt (66) and bolt (70).
(4) Put the VSV actuator (49) in position on the bell crank assembly (52).
(5) Install the bolt (66) and nut (67) that attach left VSV actuator (49) to the bell crank assembly (52) hand-tight.
(6) Install the bolt (70), spacer (69) and nut (71) that attach the bell crank assembly (52) to the left VSV actuator (49) hand-tight.
(7) Install the bolt (59), bushing (60), washer (62) and nut (63) that attach the connecting link (61) to the left VSV actuator rod (51) hand-tight.
(8) Install the bolt (58), bushing (57), washer (65) and nut (64) that attach the connecting link (61) and the left VSV actuator rod (51) to the bell crank assembly (52) hand-tight.
(9) TORQUE the nut (63), nut (64), nut (67) and nut (71) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(10) Connect the left Variable Bleed Valve (VBV) connector (79) to the left VBV actuator (78) (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-05-400-801).
(11) Install a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-610 GASKET SEAL (54) between the fuel-hydraulic VSV tube-hose (50) and the left VSV actuator (49).
(12) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) on the threads of the four bolts (55).
(13) Install the four bolts (55) that attach the fuel-hydraulic VSV tube-hose (50) to the left VSV actuator (49).
(14) TORQUE the four bolts (55) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(15) Connect the drain tube (56) B-nut to the left VSV actuator (49).
(16) TORQUE the drain tube (56) B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
.
(17) Connect the electrical connector (53) to the left VSV actuator (49). Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
(18) Connect the T-3 sensor connector (77) to the T-3 sensor (76).
(19) Connect the Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (LPTACC) valve connector (74) to the LPTACC valve (75).
(20) Connect the High Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (HPTACC) connector (72) to the HPTACC valve (73).
(21) Install the bolt (44) that attaches the loop clamp (43) to the support bracket (41).
(22) TORQUE the bolt (44) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )

(23) Install the No. 6 VBV duct (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-80-400-801).
(24) Install the engine kit segment shroud 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-400-801).
Subtask 75-32-05-710-052-A 5. Close-up(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Install the sleeve (68) in the left VSV actuator (49).
(3) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) on the threads of the bolt (58), bolt (59), bolt (66) and bolt (70).
(4) Put the VSV actuator (49) in position on the bell crank assembly (52).
(5) Install the bolt (66) and nut (67) that attach left VSV actuator (49) to the bell crank assembly (52) hand-tight.
(6) Install the bolt (70), spacer (69) and nut (71) that attach the bell crank assembly (52) to the left VSV actuator (49) hand-tight.
(7) Install the bolt (59), bushing (60), washer (62) and nut (63) that attach the connecting link (61) to the left VSV actuator rod (51) hand-tight.
(8) Install the bolt (58), bushing (57), washer (65) and nut (64) that attach the connecting link (61) and the left VSV actuator rod (51) to the bell crank assembly (52) hand-tight.
(9) TORQUE the nut (63), nut (64), nut (67) and nut (71) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (10) Connect the left Variable Bleed Valve (VBV) connector (79) to the left VBV actuator (78) (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-05-400-801).
(11) Install a new EIPC 73-00-00-20-610 GASKET SEAL (54) between the fuel-hydraulic VSV tube-hose (50) and the left VSV actuator (49).
(12) Apply engine oil (Material No.CP2442) on the threads of the four bolts (55).
(13) Install the four bolts (55) that attach the fuel-hydraulic VSV tube-hose (50) to the left VSV actuator (49).
(14) TORQUE the four bolts (55) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (15) Connect the drain tube (56) B-nut to the left VSV actuator (49).
(16) TORQUE the drain tube (56) B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
. (17) Connect the electrical connector (53) to the left VSV actuator (49). Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
(18) Connect the T-3 sensor connector (77) to the T-3 sensor (76).
(19) Connect the Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (LPTACC) valve connector (74) to the LPTACC valve (75).
(20) Connect the High Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (HPTACC) connector (72) to the HPTACC valve (73).
(21) Install the bolt (44) that attaches the loop clamp (43) to the support bracket (41).
(22) TORQUE the bolt (44) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (23) Install the No. 6 VBV duct (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-80-400-801).
(24) Install the engine kit segment shroud 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-400-801).
