TASK 75-31-00-200-803-A
Mechanical Check of the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Control System

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
ZONE: 400
1. Reason for the Job
Use this procedure to do a mechanical check of the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) stator vane systems.
NOTE: All Electronic Engine Control (EEC) monitored faults are transmitted to the aircraft Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS). The CFDS gives interactive dialog with the EEC. Use the CFDS to examine all EEC related faults. If there are EEC sensor related fault reports, troubleshoot them first.

A. Mechanical Check of the LPC Stator Vane Control System
   (1) Remove the fan exit liner segment forward of the LPC Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-000-801).
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the stator vane control systems (Ref. AMM TASK 75-00-00-210-802).

PRE SB C-75-00-013A (Config-1 Initial Design Configuration)

   (3) Do a check of the LPC stator vane control system as follows:
     (a) Remove the insulation blanket (1) from the LPC SVA.
     (b) Loosen or disconnect the hydraulic fuel pressure tube (CP02) and hydraulic fuel return tube (CR02) to remove hydraulic pressure from the LPC SVA, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-01-000-801).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LPC STATOR VANE ACTUATOR IS ATTACHED TO THE SYSTEM TO PREVENT INCORRECT MOVEMENT OF THE LPC ACTUATION SYSTEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO ENGINE PARTS CAN OCCUR.
     (c) Use a BAR LENGTH 60 CM (2 FT) BREAKER (or equivalent) on the wrenching fixture to move the LPC SVA from the fully closed (actuator rod EXTENDED) to the fully open (actuator rod RETRACTED) position. Operation must be smooth and move freely.
1 Use MIRROR - INSPECTION, MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 03X - MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and FLASHLIGHT, if necessary to do a check to see if the actuator is fully extended and retracted.
     (d) Return the LPC SVA to the fully closed position (actuator rod EXTENDED).
