Removal of the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA)

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

PRE SB C-75-00-013 (Config-1: Initial Design Configuration)
(1) Find the LPC SVA (1) attached to the Compressor Intermediate Case (CIC) bulkhead at the 9 o'clock position.

(2) Find the LPC SVA (1) attached to the CIC bulkhead at the 9 o'clock position.

(3) Remove the insulation blanket (2) from the LPC SVA (1).
(4) Remove the fan exit liner segment forward of the LPC SVA (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-000-801).
(5) Remove the LPC SVA (1) as follows:

Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) (Remove the Actuator and Disconnect the Tube (DR01)) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Remove the nut (12) and bolt (13) that attach the LPC SVA link to the actuator (1).
(b) Disconnect the wiring harness (W04) connector (P19) from the actuator (1) with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(c) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) connector (P18) from the actuator (1) with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(d) Put the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the actuator (1).
(e) Put the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) under the actuator (1).
(f) Wrap a piece of tape around the drain tube (DR01) below the B-nut connection to the actuator (1).

2 Disconnect the servo pressure fuel tube (CP02) and the servo return fuel tube

(CR02) from the top of the actuator (1).
3 Loosen the two captive bolts (14) and the two captive bolts (15) that attach the actuator (1) to the engine.
4 Remove the actuator (1) from the engine.
(6) Installation of the protection cover.
PRE SB C-75-00-013 (Config-1: Initial Design Configuration)
(1) Find the LPC SVA (1) attached to the Compressor Intermediate Case (CIC) bulkhead at the 9 o'clock position.

(2) Find the LPC SVA (1) attached to the CIC bulkhead at the 9 o'clock position.

(3) Remove the insulation blanket (2) from the LPC SVA (1).
(4) Remove the fan exit liner segment forward of the LPC SVA (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-000-801).
(5) Remove the LPC SVA (1) as follows:

Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) (Remove the Actuator and Disconnect the Tube (DR01)) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (b) Disconnect the wiring harness (W04) connector (P19) from the actuator (1) with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(c) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) connector (P18) from the actuator (1) with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(d) Put the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the actuator (1).
(e) Put the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) under the actuator (1).
(f) Wrap a piece of tape around the drain tube (DR01) below the B-nut connection to the actuator (1).
NOTE: The tape will prevent the B-nut from sliding down to the opposite end of the drain tube where it would be difficult to reach during installation of the actuator (1).
(g) Disconnect the tubes. CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
1 Disconnect the drain tube (DR01) from the bottom of the actuator (1).

Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) (Disconnect the Harnesses (W03) and (W04) and the Tubes (CP02) and (CR02)) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 3 Loosen the two captive bolts (14) and the two captive bolts (15) that attach the actuator (1) to the engine.
4 Remove the actuator (1) from the engine.
(6) Installation of the protection cover.
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent engine damage.
