(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 72-21-08-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER.
IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 72-21-08-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Fan Exit Liner Segments
(a) Remove the 11 screws (2) from the liner segment (1) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the liner segment (1).
(2) Remove the two fan exit duct segments (13) and the two fan exit liner segments (12) from the CIC as follows:
(a) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two duct segments (13) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the two duct segments (13).
(c) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two liner segments (12) with the Bit.
(d) Remove the two liner segments (12).
(3) Remove the two fan exit duct segments (13) and the two fan exit liner segments (12) from the CIC as follows:
(a) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two duct segments (13) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the two duct segments (13).
(c) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two liner segments (12) with the Bit.
(d) Remove the two liner segments (12).
(4) Remove the fan exit duct segment (13) and the fan exit liner segment (25) from the CIC as follows:
(a) Remove the seven screws (2) from the duct segment (13) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the duct segments (13).
(c) Remove the four screws (2) and the six screws (24) from the liner segment (25) with the Bit.
(d) Remove the liner segments (25).
(5) Make sure that you install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent engine damage.
CAUTION:
USE THE CORRECT NASM 14191 TORQ-SET DRIVE BIT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE SCREWS CAN OCCUR.
(1) Remove the fan exit liner segment (1) from the Compressor Intermediate Case (CIC) as follows: (a) Remove the 11 screws (2) from the liner segment (1) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the liner segment (1).
(2) Remove the two fan exit duct segments (13) and the two fan exit liner segments (12) from the CIC as follows:
(a) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two duct segments (13) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the two duct segments (13).
(c) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two liner segments (12) with the Bit.
(d) Remove the two liner segments (12).
(3) Remove the two fan exit duct segments (13) and the two fan exit liner segments (12) from the CIC as follows:
(a) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two duct segments (13) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the two duct segments (13).
(c) Remove the 14 screws (2) from the two liner segments (12) with the Bit.
(d) Remove the two liner segments (12).
(4) Remove the fan exit duct segment (13) and the fan exit liner segment (25) from the CIC as follows:
(a) Remove the seven screws (2) from the duct segment (13) with the Bit.
(b) Remove the duct segments (13).
(c) Remove the four screws (2) and the six screws (24) from the liner segment (25) with the Bit.
(d) Remove the liner segments (25).
(5) Make sure that you install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent engine damage.
