WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

E. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 73-21-63-420-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the EEC Wiring Harness W03
   (1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Put the harness (W03) (1) on the engine. See sheets 1 thru 7 and sheets 14 thru 18 of the figure:
   (3) Connect the harness (W03) (1) connectors to the engine as follows:
     (a) Connect the connector (P101) to harness (WF01) receptacle (J101) as follows: See sheet 8 of the figure:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (b) Connect the connectors (P4), (P6) and (P14) to the EEC receptacles (J4), (J6) and (J14) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (c) Connect the connector (P10) to the Prognostic and Health Monitoring Unit (PHMU) receptacle (J10) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (d) Connect the connector (P66) to the exciter box receptacle (J66) as follows: See sheet 9 of the figure:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (e) Connect the connectors (P106) and (P107) to the harness (W04) receptacles (J106) and (J107) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (f) Install the harness (W03) (1) to the lower bifi (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-11-400-801).
     (g) Install the harness (W03) (1) to the two brackets (13) and (14) as follows: See sheet 10 of the figure:
       1 Engage the harness (W03) (1) to the block clamp (11) at two locations.
       2 Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the two bolts (12).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet-application.
       3 Install the bolt (12) on the brackets (13) and (14) at two locations.
       4 TORQUE the two bolts (12) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T.
     (h) Install the harness (W03) (1) to the brackets (15) and (17) as follows:
       1 Engage the harness (W03) (1) to the block clamp (16).
       2 Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.
P06-054) to the threads of the bolt (12).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet-application.
       3 Install the bolt (12) to the brackets (15) and (17).
       4 TORQUE the bolt (12) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T.
     (i) Connect the connector (P64) to the N2 speed probe receptacle (J64) as follows: See sheet 11 of the figure:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (j) Connect the connector (P48) to the N1 speed probe receptacle (J48) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (k) Connect the connector (P24) to the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) receptacle (J24) as follows: See sheet 12 of the figure:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (l) Connect the connector (P51) to the aft vibration sensor receptacle (J51) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (m) Connect the connector (P16) to the integrated fuel pump and control receptacle (J16) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (n) Connect the connector (P56) to the HPC bleed valve air pressure sensor receptacle (J56) as follows: See sheet 13 of the figure:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (o) Connect the connector (P59) to the nacelle anti-ice valve solenoid (lower) receptacle (J59) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (p) Connect the connector (P20) to the nacelle anti-ice P1 sensor receptacle (J20) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.

POST SB C-72-00-0058A: (Configuration 2 - Sensor Relocation Configuration)

     (q) Install the connector (P32) as follows:
       1 Connect the connector (P32) to the forward vibration sensor receptacle (J32) as follows: See sheets 6, 15 and 19 of the figure:
         a Examine, align and engage the connector.
         b Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
         c Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
         d Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
         e While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
         f Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.

     (r) Connect the connector (P33) to the oil temperature probe receptacle (J33) as follows: See sheet 20 of the figure:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (s) Connect the connector (P12) to the Permanent Magnet Alternator (PMA) receptacle (J12) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (t) Connect the connector (P54) to the Variable Oil Reduction Valve (VORV) receptacle (J54) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (u) Connect the connector (P61) to the air-oil pressure sensor receptacle (J61) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (v) Install the harness (W03) (1) to the bracket as follows: See sheet 23 of the figure:
       1 Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the two bolts (28) and bolts (27).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       2 Install the harness (W03) (1) on the bracket with the two bolts (28) fingertight.
       3 Install bracket (29) to the bracket with the two bolts (27).
       4 TORQUE the two bolts (28) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN ) T.
       5 TORQUE the two bolts (27) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
T.
     (w) Connect the connector (P57) to the buffer air valve solenoid receptacle (J21) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (x) Connect the connector (P18) to the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) SVA receptacle (J18) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (y) Connect the connector (P39) to the P3 air pressure sensor receptacle (J39) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (z) Connect the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) harness connector (P43) to the harness (W03) (1) receptacle (J43) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
       7 Install the EGT harness to the bracket (29).
     (aa) Connect the harness (WC10) connector (P110) to the harness (W03) (1) receptacle (J110) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (ab) Connect the connector (P36) to the oil debris monitoring sensor receptacle (J36) as follows: See sheet 24 of the figure:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
     (ac) Connect the connector (P41) to the oil quantity sensor receptacle (J41) as follows:
       1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
       2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
       3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
       4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
       5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
       6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.

POST SB C-72-00-0105A: Harness Protection Method

   (4) Wind the EIPC 73-21-63-01-510 TAPE - PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE (60) and the 73216301-520SLEEVE - CHAFING, 0.340, SPIRAL WOUND70 around the harness (W03) (1) in the area at the angle gearbox as follows: See the sheets 14, 16 and 22 of the figure:
     (a) Spiral wind the sleeve - chafing, 0.340, spiral wound (70) around the harness (W03) (1) so that the sleeve - chafing, 0.340, spiral wound (70) makes an overlap on the blue center line with each wind.
       1 The sleeve - chafing, 0.340, spiral wound (70) must extend between 2.0 in. (50.80 mm) and 3.0 in. (76.20 mm) through the area of the angle gearbox.
     (b) Safety the sleeve - chafing, 0.340, spiral wound (70) with the tape - pressure sensitive adhesive (60) at each end. The tape - pressure sensitive adhesive (60) must wind around 0.5 in. (12.70 mm) and 1.5 in. (38.10 mm) of the harness (W03) (1) and the sleeve - chafing, 0.340, spiral wound (70).
       1 The tape - pressure sensitive adhesive (60) must have two winds around each end of the sleeve - chafing, 0.340, spiral wound (70).
   (5) Wind the tape - pressure sensitive adhesive (60) to the harness (W03) (1) between 5.0 in. (127.00 mm) and 7.0 in. (177.80 mm) at the spring clip.
     (a) The tape - pressure sensitive adhesive (60) must be in the center of the spring clip.
   (6) Wind the tape - pressure sensitive adhesive (60) around the harness (W03) (1) where it divides.

   (7) Install the harness (W03) (1) to the spring clips.
     (a) Start at the middle of the harness (W03) (1).
     (b) Push the harness (W03) (1) into all the spring clips.
     (c) Make sure that all the spring clips engage with the harness (W03) (1).
     (d) Make sure that the tension in the harness (W03) (1) is sufficient to prevent loose or tight conditions.
NOTE: It is permitted to use the tape - pressure sensitive adhesive (60) on the harness if it is loose in the spring clips.
CAUTION: INSTALL TIE WRAPS ONTO THE HARNESS TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE FROM THE NACELLE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS CAN OCCUR.
   (8) Install the three EIPC 73-21-63-01-500 TIE - ELECTRICAL CABLES (50) to the harness (W03) (1), harness (W04) and harness (WC10) as follows: See sheets 14, 15 and 21 of the figure:
     (a) Attach the tie - electrical cable (50) around one harness (W03) (1) lead and the harness (WC10) lead at location 1.
     (b) Attach the tie - electrical cable (50) around one harness (W03) (1) lead and the two harness (W04) leads at location 2.
     (c) Attach the tie - electrical cable (50) around one harness (W03) (1) lead and the harness (W04) lead at location 3.
   (9) Examine the harness (W03) (1) for contact with other engine hardware which can cause chafing.
   (10) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.

B. Test
   (1) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802)
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Do the Test 7 - FADEC System - EEC - Self Test (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-806).

   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
