A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:

The ENG/MODE selector switch
The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

4. Procedure
Subtask 72-00-00-280-090-A

A. Halogen Products Contamination

CAUTION: THE ENGINE CONTAINS NUMEROUS TITANIUM PARTS, THEREFORE HALON SUBSTANCES MUST NOT BE USED.

(1) In flight:
(a) Use of nacelle extinguishing equipment (fire confirmed or not). No maintenance action.
(2) On ground:
(a) Use of nacelle extinguishing equipment only: Open nacelle doors immediately to disperse halogen vapors. No further maintenance action is necessary
(b) If halogen fluids have been sprayed in the engine (in undetermined quantity), do the steps that follow:
1 If the engine can be restarted within 30 minutes.

Do a ground run at Idle for 10 minutes (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-815).
Drain oil tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-808).
Drain the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-802).
Re-service oil tank with new engine oil (Material No.CP2442) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-806).

2 If Re-ignition and ground run cannot be done within 30 minutes, do as soon as possible, and within one hour, the steps that follow:

Start and motor the engine for 5 minutes (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-827) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-828)
Stop motoring for 5 to 10 minutes (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-829).
Re-start and motor engine for 5 minutes (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-827) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-828).
Drain the AGB (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-802).
Re-service oil tank with new engine oil (Material No.CP2442) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-806).
Do a ground run at idle for 10 minutes within 3 hours (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-815).

3 If motoring the engine is impossible within 3 hours, remove and return engine to shop for disassembly, cleaning and inspection.
