WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 12-13-79-941-076-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
4. Procedure
Subtask 12-13-79-680-065-A
A. Draining of the Oil Tank (1)
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND BE CAREFUL WITH OIL SPLASHES WHEN YOU DISCONNECT OIL TUBES. HOT OIL CAN CAUSE DEEP BURNS.
CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE PAINTED SURFACES ON WHICH OIL FALLS. THE OIL WILL PUT STAINS ON THE CLOTHES AND CAN MAKE PAINT SOFT.
CAUTION: DO THE ENGINE OIL REPLENISH PROCEDURE BEFORE THE OIL TANK BECOMES COOL (30 MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN). IF THE TANK IS COOL, YOU CAN FILL IT TOO MUCH AND CAUSE AN INCORRECT INDICATION OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION RATE.
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL) below the oil tank outlet pipe (2).
   (2) Drain the oil from the oil tank as follows:
     (a) Remove the drain plug (3) from the oil tank outlet pipe (2).
     (b) Let the oil drain into the CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL).
   (3) Install the drain plug (3) on the oil tank outlet pipe (2) as follows:
     (a) Install the drain plug (3) on the oil tank outlet pipe (2) and tighten with your hand.
     (b) TORQUE the drain plug (3) to between 97.65 and 88.35 lbf.in (1.10 and 1.00 m.daN ) T
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
