Draining of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB)
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 12-13-79-010-071-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.

- The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
- The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

A. Draining of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB)
(2) Remove the drain plug (2) from the AGB (1) as follows:
(a) Removal of the lockwire
(b) Remove the drain plug (2) from the AGB (1).
(c) Let the oil drain into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(d) Remove and discard the O-ring (3) from the drain plug (2).
(3) Install the drain plug (2) on the AGB (1) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(b) Lubrication of the drain plug
(c) Install the new O-ring (3) in the groove of the drain plug (2).
(d) Installation of the drain plug
(e) TORQUE the drain plug (2) to between 212.4 and 185.9 lbf.in (2.40 and 2.10 m.daN ).
(f) Safety the drain plug.
CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
5. Close-upWARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND BE CAREFUL WITH OIL SPLASHES WHEN YOU DISCONNECT OIL TUBES. HOT OIL CAN CAUSE DEEP BURNS.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the drain port of the AGB (1). (2) Remove the drain plug (2) from the AGB (1) as follows:
(a) Removal of the lockwire
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Cut and remove the lockwire from the drain plug (2). (b) Remove the drain plug (2) from the AGB (1).
(c) Let the oil drain into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(d) Remove and discard the O-ring (3) from the drain plug (2).
(3) Install the drain plug (2) on the AGB (1) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(b) Lubrication of the drain plug
WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
1 Lubricate the threads of the drain plug (2) and the new EIPC 72-63-00-01-130 O-RING (3) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) . (c) Install the new O-ring (3) in the groove of the drain plug (2).
(d) Installation of the drain plug
CAUTION:
DO NOT INSTALL THE DRAIN PLUG WITHOUT AN O-RING. THE INSTALLATION OF A DRAIN PLUG WITHOUT AN O-RING CAN CAUSE OIL OR FUEL LEAKAGE DURING ENGINE OPERATION AND A POSSIBLE ENGINE SHUTDOWN.
1 Install the drain plug (2) in the correct position on the AGB (1) and tighten it with your hand. (e) TORQUE the drain plug (2) to between 212.4 and 185.9 lbf.in (2.40 and 2.10 m.daN )
. (f) Safety the drain plug.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Safety the drain plug (2) with Subtask 12-13-79-410-071-A
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
