  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

Subtask 57-51-00-941-069-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable engine pylon, zone 470(480).
   (2) Remove the applicable aft fixed fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-001).
   (3) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left wing: 475BL 475CL 476BR and 476CR
     (b) For the right wing: 485BL 485CL 486BR and 486CR.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable engine pylon, zone 470(480).
   (2) Remove the applicable aft fixed fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-001).
   (3) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left wing: 475BL and 475BR
     (b) For the right wing: 485BL and 485BR.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable engine pylon, zone 470(480).
   (2) Remove the applicable aft fixed fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-802).
   (3) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
     (a) For the left wing: 471CL 471BL and 472BR
     (b) For the right wing: 481BL 482CR and 482BR.

C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-51-00-280-050-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection (LFEC) of outer wing, bottom skin lower surface, aft of rear spar, under pylon fairing, for damage or discontinuities. Refer to NTM 575163.
   (2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.
5. Close-up
Subtask 57-51-00-410-087-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-002):
     (a) For the left wing: 475BL 475CL 476BR and 476CR
     (b) For the right wing: 485BL 485CL 486BR and 486CR.
   (2) Install the applicable aft fixed fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-001).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 57-51-00-410-087-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-002):
     (a) For the left wing: 475BL and 475BR
     (b) For the right wing: 485BL and 485BR.
   (2) Install the applicable aft fixed fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-001).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 57-51-00-410-087-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-804):
     (a) For the left wing: 471CL 471BL and 472BR
     (b) For the right wing: 481BL 482CR and 482BR.
   (2) Install the applicable aft fixed fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-802).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
   (2) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
