Removal of the Bearing Seals of the MLG Actuator Bearing Assembly

WARNING:

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Install the safety devices on the landing gears (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001) and the landing gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
Subtask 57-26-13-582-050-A Subtask 57-26-13-860-055-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Install the safety devices on the landing gears (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001) and the landing gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are de-pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
Subtask 57-26-13-869-052-A (1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are de-pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
D. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
Subtask 57-26-13-865-050-A (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

F. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable main landing gear bay, zone 571 or 671.
(2) Remove the applicable MLG actuating cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-46-000-001).
(3) Remove the applicable MLG actuator attachment bearing assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 57-26-13-000-002) .
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable main landing gear bay, zone 571 or 671.
(2) Remove the applicable MLG actuating cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-46-000-001).
(3) Remove the applicable MLG actuator attachment bearing assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 57-26-13-000-002) .
Subtask 57-26-13-020-054-B
A. Removal of the Bearing Seals
(1) Remove the bearing-halves (1) from the bearing ball (2) as follows:
(a) Hold the applicable bearing-half (1) tightly.
(c) Make sure that the distance between the bearing-halves (1) is constant during separation.
(2) Remove and discard the seal (3) and the seal (4).
(3) Remove the bearing ball (2).
(4) Remove and discard the dowel pins (5) from the bearing-halves (1).
(1) Remove the bearing-halves (1) from the bearing ball (2) as follows:
(a) Hold the applicable bearing-half (1) tightly.
NOTE: Separation of the bearing-halves (1) from the bearing ball (2) is not easy.
(b) Carefully remove the bearing-halves (1) from the bearing ball (2). (c) Make sure that the distance between the bearing-halves (1) is constant during separation.
(2) Remove and discard the seal (3) and the seal (4).
(3) Remove the bearing ball (2).
(4) Remove and discard the dowel pins (5) from the bearing-halves (1).
