A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-31-46-582-050-A Subtask 32-31-46-869-050-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
- In the cockpit, on the HYD overhead panel 40VU
- On the hydraulic ground service-panels 197CB and 198CB
- On the access door 195BB.
C. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration with electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the circuit breakers.
Subtask 32-31-46-865-050-A (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration with electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the circuit breakers.

E. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
Subtask 32-31-46-010-050-B (1) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
F. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) FOR [2503GM] (ACTG CYL-MLG, L)
(b) Remove the nuts (6) and (7), the bridge plates (3) and (4).
(c) Remove the cover plates (1) and (2).
Subtask 32-31-46-480-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) FOR [2503GM] (ACTG CYL-MLG, L)
- Below zone 571.
- Below zone 671.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (8) and (9).(b) Remove the nuts (6) and (7), the bridge plates (3) and (4).
(c) Remove the cover plates (1) and (2).
G. Installation of the Support Equipment
(1) Install the grommet (5).
(2) Put the tool in position on the wing:
(4) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the applicable actuating cylinder.

- 98D32104009006 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15) and the HOIST 50 KG (110 LB), or
- 98D32104009007 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15).
(4) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the applicable actuating cylinder.
G. Installation of the Support Equipment
(1) Install the grommet (5).
(2) Put the tool in position on the wing:

(4) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the applicable actuating cylinder.
G. Installation of the Support Equipment
(1) Install the grommet (5).
(2) Put the 98D32104009007 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15) in position on the wing.
(3) Put the 98D57004019000 SLIPPER BLOCK(REAR SPAR ATTACHMENT BRACKET-ACTUATOR) in position to prevent the area from damage.
(4) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the applicable actuating cylinder.
4. Procedure(1) Install the grommet (5).
(2) Put the 98D32104009007 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15) in position on the wing.
(3) Put the 98D57004019000 SLIPPER BLOCK(REAR SPAR ATTACHMENT BRACKET-ACTUATOR) in position to prevent the area from damage.
(4) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the applicable actuating cylinder.
Subtask 32-31-46-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the MLG Actuating Cylinder
(3) Disconnect the unions of the flexible hoses (21) and (22) from the actuating cylinder manifold (23).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Attach the flexible hoses (21) and (22) to the adjacent structure.
(a) Make sure that there are no kinks on the flexible hoses (21) and (22).
(6) Use theSCRAPER - NON METALLIC and remove the sealant from:
(8) Remove the nut (34), the washer (33), the cap (32) and the bolt (29).
(9) Remove and discard the cotter pin (37).
(10) Remove the nut (38), the washer (39), the nylon-washer (40) and the bolt (41).
(11) Remove the collar (36).
(12) Remove the pins (20) and (27) and the washers (30) and (43).
(13) Carefully remove the actuating cylinder.
Subtask 32-31-46-020-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
(1) Use the 98D32104009001 REM., INST. EQUIPMENT - MLG ACTUATOR (15) or the 98D32104009003 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15) or the 98D32104009006 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15) or the 98D32104009007 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15) to hold the actuating cylinder 38 kg (83.8 lb). WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(2) Remove and discard the lockwire from the unions of the flexible hoses (21) and (22). (3) Disconnect the unions of the flexible hoses (21) and (22) from the actuating cylinder manifold (23).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Attach the flexible hoses (21) and (22) to the adjacent structure.
(a) Make sure that there are no kinks on the flexible hoses (21) and (22).
(6) Use theSCRAPER - NON METALLIC and remove the sealant from:
- The bolt (29) and the nut (34)
- The bolt (41) and the nut (38).
(8) Remove the nut (34), the washer (33), the cap (32) and the bolt (29).
(9) Remove and discard the cotter pin (37).
(10) Remove the nut (38), the washer (39), the nylon-washer (40) and the bolt (41).
(11) Remove the collar (36).
(12) Remove the pins (20) and (27) and the washers (30) and (43).
(13) Carefully remove the actuating cylinder.
A. Removal of the MLG Actuating Cylinder
(3) Disconnect the unions of the flexible hoses (21) and (22) from the actuating cylinder manifold (23).

(12) Carefully remove the actuating cylinder.

(5) Attach the flexible hoses (21) and (22) to the adjacent structure. Do not put kinks in them.

(1) Use the 98D32104009007 EQUIPMENT-R I OF THE MLG ACTUATOR (15) to hold the actuating cylinder 38 kg (83.8 lb). (2) Remove and discard the lockwire from the unions of the flexible hoses (21) and (22).
(3) Disconnect the unions of the flexible hoses (21) and (22) from the actuating cylinder manifold (23).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Attach the flexible hoses (21) and (22) to the adjacent structure. Do not put kinks in them.
(a) Make sure that there are no kinks on the flexible hoses (21) and (22).
(6) Use theSCRAPER - NON METALLIC and remove the sealant from:
- The bolt (34) and the cap (29)
- The bolt (35) and the nut (39).

(5) Attach the flexible hoses (21) and (22) to the adjacent structure.
(a) Make sure that there are no kinks on the flexible hoses (21) and (22).
(6) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and remove the sealant from:

(9) Remove and discard the cotter pin (35).
(10) Remove the nut (36), the washer (37), the nylon-washer (38) and the bolt (39).
(11) Remove the collar (40).
(12) Remove the pins (20) and (26) and the washers (29) and (41).
(13) Carefully remove the actuating cylinder.
