WARNING: THIS PROCEDURE USES A FUEL SYSTEM ITEM THAT IS IN A CATEGORY KNOWN AS A CRITICAL DESIGN CONFIGURATION CONTROL LIMITATION (CDCCL). CDCCL IDENTIFIES AN ITEM THAT CAN BE THE SOURCE OF A POSSIBLE FUEL TANK IGNITION. YOU MUST KEEP ALL CDCCL ITEMS IN THE APPROVED CONFIGURATION. DAMAGE, WEAR OR CHANGES TO A CDCCL ITEM CAN CAUSE A POSSIBLE FUEL TANK EXPLOSION.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER. IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP. AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 57-17-11-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Open the MLG doors and install the safety devices (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 147 or 148.
   (3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Defuel the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or move the fuel into a different tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
   (3) Drain the remaining fuel in the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE WARNING/CAUTION PLACARDS ARE INSTALLED AND YOU CAN EASILY READ THEM. THESE PLACARDS TELL PERSONS THAT THERE IS A POSSIBLE LOW OXYGEN CONTENT IN:
  • THE AREA BEHIND THE ACCESS PANEL(S)
  • THE ADJACENT AREAS WHEN THE ACCESS PANEL(S) IS(ARE) OPEN.
IF THE PLACARDS ARE DAMAGED, MISSING OR PAINTED OVER, YOU MUST REPLACE THEM. THESE PLACARDS ARE RELATED TO A CRITICAL DESIGN CONFIGURATION CONTROL LIMITATION (CDCCL).
   (1) Do a visual inspection to look for placards that are:
  • Damaged
  • Missing
  • Painted over.
   (2) Make sure that you can easily read the placard message.
   (3) If the placards are damaged, missing, painted over or you cannot easily read them, replace them at the next maintenance opportunity.
   (4) Remove the bolt (13), the washer (14) and disconnect the bonding strip (15).
   (5) Remove the screws (16), the washers (17) and the washers (18).
   (6) Remove the access cover (11).
NOTE: Hold the access cover (11) in position when you remove the fasteners.
   (7) Remove and discard the seal (12).

   (7) Remove the screw (30), the washer (32) and disconnect the bonding strip (29).
   (8) Remove the screw (39), the washer (40) and disconnect the bonding strip (38).
   (9) Remove the screw (36), the washer (35), the bonding strip (38) and disconnect the bonding strip (37).
   (10) Remove the bolts (21), the washers (22), the washers (23) and the fittings (24), (31) and (41).
   (11) Remove the ACT-equipment support door (34).
NOTE: Hold the ACT-equipment support door (34) in position when you remove the bolts (21).
   (12) Remove and discard the seal (33).
