Removal of the ACT Fuel-Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES.
IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER.
IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP.
AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.
WARNING:
DO NOT GET YOUR CLOTHES SOAKED WITH FUEL.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE CORRECT FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the FUEL section of panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate fuel system.
(6) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the MASTER SW pushbutton switch.
(7) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the ENG/APU FIRE panel located on overhead panel 20VU, to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system.
(8) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the Main Landing Gear (MLG) doors.
Subtask 28-28-11-865-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(4) On the FUEL section of HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the FUEL section of panel 40VU, to tell persons not to operate fuel system.
(6) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, to tell persons not to operate the MASTER SW pushbutton switch.
(7) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the ENG/APU FIRE panel located on overhead panel 20VU, to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system.
(8) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the Main Landing Gear (MLG) doors.

C. Get Access
(1) Open the left MLG door to get access to the ACT fuel-transfer-pump pressure-switch (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the left MLG door.
(3) Remove the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-003).
4. Procedure(1) Open the left MLG door to get access to the ACT fuel-transfer-pump pressure-switch (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the left MLG door.
(3) Remove the protective cover of the ACT-equipment support door (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-003).

A. Removal of the ACT Fuel-Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3).
(5) Hold the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3) and loosen the plug (6). Remove the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3) and the plug (6) together.
(6) Remove the plug (6) from the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3) and remove and discard the O-rings (2) and (5).
(7) Install PLUG - BLANKING in the sealing valve (1) and the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3).
Subtask 28-28-11-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(4) Remove and discard the lockwire (7) from the sealing valve (1) and the plug (6). (5) Hold the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3) and loosen the plug (6). Remove the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3) and the plug (6) together.
(6) Remove the plug (6) from the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3) and remove and discard the O-rings (2) and (5).
(7) Install PLUG - BLANKING in the sealing valve (1) and the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (3).
A. Removal of the ACT Fuel-Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4).
(5) Hold the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4) and loosen the plug (1). Remove the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4) and the plug (1) together.
(6) Remove the plug (1) from the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4) and remove and discard the O-rings (3) and (6).
(7) Install PLUG - BLANKING on the safety valve (7) and the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (5). (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(4) Remove and discard the lockwire (2) from the safety valve (7) and the plug (1). (5) Hold the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4) and loosen the plug (1). Remove the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4) and the plug (1) together.
(6) Remove the plug (1) from the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4) and remove and discard the O-rings (3) and (6).
(7) Install PLUG - BLANKING on the safety valve (7) and the fuel transfer-pump pressure-switch (4).
