Removal of the ACT Fuel Transfer-Valve
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(3) On the FUEL section of HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position:
(6) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.
Subtask 28-28-33-650-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 28-28-33-865-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(3) On the FUEL section of HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, make sure that all the L TK PUMPS and R TK PUMPS pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position:
- On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU to tell persons not to operate the APU/MASTER SW pushbutton switch
- On the FUEL section of panel 40VU to tell persons not to operate the fuel system
- On the ENG/APU FIRE panel on overhead panel 20VU to tell persons not to operate the fire extinguishing system
- On the Additional Center Tank (ACT) section of control panel 28VU to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
(6) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.
C. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Get Access
(1) Open the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the right MLG door.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the right MLG door.
E. Preparation for Removal
(1) Remove the ACT transfer-valve actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-53-000-001).
Subtask 28-28-33-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the ACT transfer-valve actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-53-000-001).
F. Get Access
(1) Get access to the fuel center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
4. Procedure(1) Get access to the fuel center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
- Remove access cover 148AZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
Subtask 28-28-33-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Transfer Valve
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the valve (9) and the connections between the lines (1) and (4).
(2) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (6) and the bolts (5) and disconnect the bonding straps (7).
(3) Loosen the nuts (3).
(4) Remove the screws (11).
(5) Remove the valve (9) from the lines (1) and (4).
(7) Remove and discard the packings (2).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 28-28-33-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the valve (9) and the connections between the lines (1) and (4).
(2) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (6) and the bolts (5) and disconnect the bonding straps (7).
(3) Loosen the nuts (3).
(4) Remove the screws (11).
(5) Remove the valve (9) from the lines (1) and (4).
NOTE: Play at the connections between the lines (1) and (4) will help you release the valve (9).
(6) Remove and discard the O-rings (10) and (12). (7) Remove and discard the packings (2).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
A. Removal of the ACT Fuel Transfer-Valve
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the ACT fuel transfer-valve (10) and the connections between the lines (1) and (5).
(2) Remove the nuts (9), the washers (7) and the bolts (6) and disconnect the bonding straps (8).
(3) Loosen the nuts (4).
(4) Remove the ACT fuel transfer-valve (10) from the lines (1) and (5).
(6) Remove and discard the O-rings (3).
(7) Remove the screws (12).
(8) Remove the ACT fuel transfer-valve (10) from the structure.
(9) Remove and discard the O-ring (11).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the ACT fuel transfer-valve (10) and the connections between the lines (1) and (5).
(2) Remove the nuts (9), the washers (7) and the bolts (6) and disconnect the bonding straps (8).
(3) Loosen the nuts (4).
(4) Remove the ACT fuel transfer-valve (10) from the lines (1) and (5).
NOTE: The play at the connections between the lines (1) and (5) will help you to release the ACT fuel transfer-valve (10).
(5) Remove and discard the retaining rings (2). (6) Remove and discard the O-rings (3).
(7) Remove the screws (12).
(8) Remove the ACT fuel transfer-valve (10) from the structure.
(9) Remove and discard the O-ring (11).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
