Inspection of the APU (APS 3200) after a Fire in the APU Compartment
WARNING:
AFTER THE DISCHARGE OF AN ETOPS FIRE EXTINGUISHING BOTTLE, DO NOT GO INTO THE RELATED COMPARTMENT. WAIT A MINIMUM OF 2 HOURS AFTER OPERATION OF FIRE EXTINGUISHING BOTTLE 2 TO MAKE SURE THAT THE AIR IS SAFE TO BREATHE.
AFTER DISCHARGE, THE EXTINGUISHING AGENT CAN FLOW FROM THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM (FES) FOR NINETY MINUTES. KEEP A CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR OPEN FOR A MINIMUM OF 30 MINUTES AFTER THE FLOW OF EXTINGUISHING AGENT STOPS. THIS WILL MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A GOOD FLOW OF AIR THROUGH THE CARGO COMPARTMENT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THERE IS A RISK OF SUFFOCATION.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE APU UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
